Lake Geneva, WI & Galena, IL

Will be going to these towns during the 1st week of October. Any good things to do or places to see? Any good coupons I can get for these areas?

We live about a half hour away from Lake Geneva. It's a nice town, with lots of neat shops and restaurants, etc. A heads-up though--it gets jam-packed with people on weekends, so be prepared for that if you're going on a weekend. Weekdays seem to be less crowded. Instead of me trying to tell you about all there is to do, check out this site: Welcome to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.

I will suggest a couple places though. If you have children, there's a cute little toy store called Allison Wonderland; check that out. Also (children or not ;) , there's a candy and ice cream shop that we always stop at for a treat when we're there. The name escapes me right now, but you'll see it, I'm sure. It's on one of the corners along the main street. Hope that helped somewhat, and that you have a great visit! :)

Watch parking meter in this town , they will give you a ticket!!

There are a couple deep dish chicago style pizza places.
Kishwauketoe Conservancy in Williams Bay (bring bug spray)
You can walk around the entire lake, if you love to hike 21 miles!!! Great way to see Mansions.
The Allison Wonderland toy store is very fun. They have fun imported european toys.
Sometimes there are great clearance sales going on at this time of year.

Don't forget the other little towns around the area.
Williams Bays has a huge beautiful historic Yerkes observatory.
Daddy Maxwell's Diner & Cafe GREAT breakfast (love stuffed or cinnamon roll french toast) in Williams Bay (down the street from Conservancy) Part of building looks like igloo.
