Plan on walking a nice distance from the boardwalk to the ocean! It's one heck of a journey to get to it!!

We spent summers there as a kid. Haven't been in about 10 yrs but I preferred it over OC if you are planning to spend most of your time at restaurants, the beach, or pool. OC beaches are very, very crowded. It is a long walk (beach is sooooo wide) in Wildwood but worth it. Also the boardwalk is nicer and bigger. More rides. Wildwood seemed more family oriented back when we went. My pick hands down over OC.

I go to Wildwood with my family every year at the end of the summer. We go right after labor day. My kids are homeschooled so we are flexible that way. I love it because everything is cheaper. Hotels are cheaper and stores are looking for a sale so there are plenty of bargains. I've learned that even though a certain price is is on the item the stores are always willing to bargain...at least at that time of year. The beach is great. It's pretty clean and lots of sand for everyone....unlike Ocean City. The boardwalk is great as well. There is always something going on. So many great stores to browse and lots of great food. The rides are plentiful as well. There are lots of great acades for the kids to play in as well. Lots, lots, lots to do!

Ocean City, Hands Down!!
We went last year and had an awesome time! Beach and boardwalk for miles (their is a trolley). We were only a five minute walk from the center of everything. We rented a condo.
They had movie night where a huge screen was set up on the beach.....Lots of shops, food stands, restaurants, street performers, Ripleys (my fav), Speedboat ride/ dolphin watch (kids LOVED IT!), Carnival rides.
