hey anyone have any money saving tips or secrets that only the locals would know for gulf shores/orange beach my famiy's going in august!!!!

They have a really nice Publix in Orange Beach :)

Orange Beach has the most awesome park for kids and long pier on bay to fish off of also.
Doc's seafood down the road from park is great local place to eat and not real expensive (not very fancy either).
Big O's on Hwy 98 just before you get to ocean is good too and family friendly.
Gulf State Zoo is awesome. Not real big but you get a closer look at animals than you do at other zoo's. It was featured on the Discovery channel's "The Little Zoo That Could".

Stop by the visitor center in Gulf Shores on 59 or in Orange Beach on Perdido Beach Blvd and ask at the desk. Also, check out the many racks of information, many contain coupons. Restaurant.com has some coupons also. None of the grocery stores doublt as of a few weeks ago, so I try to take anything that I can. Going tomorrow, so I will let you know if I discover any new finds.

you have probably already visited, and then returned home but for future reference: dont do your grocery shopping in Gulf shores. Gulf Shores tax is 9% where as Foley is only 7 or 8% and the prices are better in Foley. you arent paying the Tourist prices.
