| Re: Travel to San Francisco - need advice I think you made the right choice! If you're only staying there for three days, mainly for the wedding activities, and your toddler needs to nap in the afternoon and go to sleep early, you're better off staying at a hotel right next to the wedding venue. So, yay! You're all set! :-) Now, what are you gonna do on your one sightseeing day? If the weather is good, maybe you could plan to be in a park or on the beach during the afternoon, pack yourselves a picnic lunch or some snacks, and while your daughter naps, the adults can relax in between sightseeing.
Since we are on a couponing/shopping forum, I should also say, in case you need to run to the drugstore while in SF, there are lots of Walgreens near where you are staying... so, pack your RRs, if you have them! LOL
It just occured to me too, you no longer get Red Plum inserts in your area, right? Maybe you can pick some up while you're in SF, as long as you're there on a weekend, i.e. Sunday paper... assuming the Sunday papers in the Bay Area still get the Red Plum inserts... I don't know, do they? Of course, this all depends on how dedicated a couponer you are! LOL Wedding celebrations and sightseeing might understandably take precedence! (Whatever happened, btw, to that campaign and Web site that you helped set up to try to get Red Plum inserts back in your local papers?)

One of the other people behind that website is involved in 2 of the lawsuits that RP and SS have going against one another. Somehow we're still trying to win this battle - but I like your thinking about getting extra inserts while I'm there!
And I really hope we can go to the beach on Sunday when we have our day of freedom from the wedding stuff! It's too bad we have to fly in and out so quick. |

Originally Posted by hcwhcw .. assuming the Sunday papers in the Bay Area still get the Red Plum inserts... I don't know, do they? | To answer my own question, yes, they do! I checked on this page "RedPlum: Where can you find your RedPlum Coupon Book", first using an address from SF, then an address from the East Bay. marrelam, I know it's a while until you go, but if you really come back from your vacation with RP inserts, I want to hear about that! LOL. I would also like to hear about the rest of your trip, of course! Especially China Beach, if you go, since I've never been there, but it sounded interesting upthread.
I just want to add, since I don't think anyone already suggested it in this thread, if you go to Fisherman's Wharf, you might want to check out Musee Mecanique on Pier 45. It's a collection of mechanically operated musical instruments and antique arcade machines. Do you remember the fortuneteller machine from the movie "Big"? They have a couple of machines like that. I think it's a fun visit. |

| Re: Travel to San Francisco - need advice I wondered if you had gone yet! The weather in OH's "crummy" now? By "crummy" do you mean cold, wet,...? Why don't you check weather.com to see what the weather in San Francisco is gonna be like! So, are you all set w/ your travel plans? You sound excited. Is your DD excited too? Will this be her first plane trip?
In case I don't happen to check this thread again before Friday, have a great time! Remember to post when you get back! I want to hear all the details of your trip to SF. Oh, and pick up some RP's while you're there! LOL. Actually, there are supposed to be Breeze/Contour Qs in the 10/25 RP, you know, so you might really want to pick up some RPs while you're there! ;-) Have a safe trip! (Of course, if I post again in this thread before Friday, just remember to re-read this paragraph on Thursday, or after whatever my last post before Friday is... LOL!) |

Enjoy!
Tess | The Weather Channel's website for this coming wkend shows almost 70 and sunny. I hope this stays true!
If there was only 1 restaurant for each meal you could go to while in San Fran: breakfast and lunch and dinner - where would you go? |
