Help - Virginia Beach, Va vacation

Can anyone give me a hand?

In 2 weeks a couple friends and I are going on vacation to Virginia Beach, VA. We are staying at the super 8 on atlantic ave.

I'm wondering if anyone can tell me what stores are near there (the closer, the better). My friends are not shoppers.

Can anyone tell me of anything fun to do in the area? The cheaper the better. Good restaurants or deals in the area? Basically just anything about virginia beach...Thanks!! :)

I live about an hour from there & at one time shopped the skirts of VA Beach but stopped because they were so pissy about me using coupons. (mostly walgreens) I did find I had the least amount of problems late at night. If I'm not mistaken someone said a Farm Fresh down there doubles coupons.

Sorry, I can't be of much help, I *really* dislike that area.

I lived there about 5 years ago. I didn't coupon at the time. They have Farm Fresh, Foodlion and Eckerds(then). Those are the only ones I remember. The night life is fun and there's a mall but not super close to the strip. I loved VA Beach!! Norfolk on the other hand not so fabulous for me!

I'd hardly consider the night life in Virginia Beach 'fun', more like laughable. (I really, *really* dislike that area & the people) I thought Norfolk was a lot more fun when I was going out.

Came back to add that the Dismal Swamp has been on fire & there's a lot of smoke in Virginia Beach right now. Might want to keep an eye on the local news or newspaper to see what's going on before you plan the trip out.
