Outer Banks NC trip help

Hello! We are vacationing in North Carolina in a few weeks. We have found lots we want to do. Does anyone know of any cheap places to stay around Manteo/Nags Head? (yes, we are behind & just hoping to find a place to stay!) Any help on discounts would be great. We are going to Roanoke Park, The Lost Colony show, and ??? Then travel over to Tweetsie railroad and catch a game of the winston warthogs.

Can't help you with any advice, but the Harris Teeter in Nags Head usually has WineTags if you are interested in looking :)

What kind of deals were you able to find on entertainment? We are going to Kitty Hawk in 2 weeks. We have a very limited budget (my husband says $0 lol!). I have already ordered some coupon books. Thanks for any advice.

Something that costs no money at all is to go to the huge sand dunes, take a kite with you and have fun for free.

Jockey's Ridge is free-my kids love it.

We rented a house in June with family. Go to any grocery store and pick up the coupon books in the front for all of the souvenier shops, etc. Jockey's Ridge is fantastic. The beaches of course. And we enjoyed the Wright Bros. museum - once you pay to park, the receipt is good for the next 7 days (I think, or it was 5) to return at no cost. They have children's programs that you can look into. When we were there, they showed the kids how to make kites out of garbage bags, and then had a bunch for the kids to fly out in the field. Worth checking their schedule.

There are many houses to rent thru various realty companies- Sun Realty, Joe Lamb, Midgett Realty. We have rented several homes there. We like the S Nags Head area. There also listings on VRBO for by owner rentals. Good Luck.

We've used Outer Beaches Realty for all of our vacation rentals and have always been really pleased. I'm not sure how far up the shore they rent houses as the houses we've rented have all been on Hatteras Island.
