User Infractions

What it is: The user infraction system gives points for rule violations. Some infractions will expire after a certain time period and some never expire. This is based on the severity of the infraction.

The following is a list of the current user infractions, their point value, and their expiration's.

Infractions

Violation of the trading rules.
* This includes bumping, posting too many coupons, trying to trade CRT and/or complete deals, auction violations, etc. Please read the trading rules here.HERE

• Points - 2
• Expires - 1 Month

Thread Jacking (taking a subject way off topic)
* All thread jacking post violations will result only if a member finds your thread jacking to be serious enough to report your post for violation*** of this rule. Members are to self govern this rule by reporting any post that they feel has gotten way out of hand. Thread jacking does not apply in any of our Hot House forums.

• Points - 2
• Expires - 14 Day

Posting of an unapproved link in signature or posts
* Links to competing sites, referal programs, or any site that nets you a profit or competes with this website in nature or our affiliates is not allowed. The rule on signatures is that you may not have any link in your signature that links outside of Hot Coupon World unless you have paid the fee for one of our entrepreneur forum and/or have asked for approval from an admin.

• Points - 5
• Expires in - 1 Month

Flaming or insulting another member or staff.
* All flaming or insulting post violations will result only if a member finds your post(s) to be serious enough to report your post for violation*** of this rule. Members are to self govern this rule by reporting any post that they feel has gotten way out of hand. Flaming and insulting members does apply in all forums including the Hot House forums

• Expires - 14 Days

Posting about using coupons in a fraudulent manner or in a way that goes against store policy
*You may find our policy on fraudulent usage of coupons HERE. And for store policy please see and read the sticky in each store forum.

• Points - 5
• Expires - Never

Posting about unethical activities and/or direct violations of store policies.
*To learn about store policies, please read the sticky threads in the appropriate store forum or contact the store's corporate office.

• Points - 5
• Expires - Never

Bad Trade
*HCW has a bad trader list, and bad trades will dealt with now on HCW. You may view the guidelines for reporting a bad trade HERE (you must be a fully registered member to view the bad trader list) Bugface711 is in charge of mediating and handing reports for bad trades.

• Points - 10
• Expires - Never

Spamming the board via PM or posts
*Spam is not tolerated what so ever at HCW. Spam is an immediate and permanent ban.

• Points - 30
• Expires - Never

Posting of an unapproved coupon in PDF, JPEG, or GIF format
*Links to printable coupons or rebate forms that are hosted in a PDF, JPEG, or GIF format are not allowed to be posted on the site unless they have been approved by a moderator. Manufacture coupons and rebates hosted in these formats should be sent via Private Message to either Nrpeace17 or Youpdwhat. Store coupons or rebate forms hosted in these formats should be sent via private message to the moderator for that store when possible. You can read more about this rule HERE

• Expires - 14 Days

Consequences

All infractions have consequences, here you will find how many points and how many infractions it will take to give users a consequence.

10 Points OR 6 Infractions = 2 Day Ban from the board
20 Points OR 8 Infractions = 5 Day Ban from the board
30 Points OR 10 Infractions = Permanent Ban from the board

We realize that HCW does not have many violations but they do come up from time to time. Most members are respectful to one another and follow the rules. We feel that knowing the rules and what will happen if you break the rules is good for the forum. With the new software we are able to implement a system that will work easier and need less intervention by staff members.

All staff members are able to issue infractions, forum specific mods are only allowed to give infractions for posts made in their forum(s) and for spam anywhere on the board.

Super mods and admins can issue infractions across the board and can also issue custom infractions as needed.

All members will be given one (1) warning of a general type to remind users to read the rules. Once their warning has been given infractions will occur.

Of course we hope none of our members will ever need to get an infraction. But as the board grows each day we realize that it's bound to happen from time to time.

*** To report a post for rule violations please click on this - -icon which can be found in the right hand corner of each post. This will send a message to our staff.

If need feel the need to revise these infractions we will and will amend this post and bump it to let you know if there are new infractions. Our goal here is run the board smoothly so that we can focus our time and energy on bringing you the deals and coupon information.

Will Ladywaterwind still be deciding if 'reported' posts (for flaming or threadjacking) warrant action, an infraction or other warning?

Also, does this replace the other already stated '3 strikes' and 'peer review' policies?

Honestly, this one seems a bit harsh to never expire. The lines are just not clear enough, IMO, to justify that. Do I start telling people to only use three like coupons per order, or only one on a BOGO at HT when not ONE of the stores in my area actually enforces that policy...??? I think most HT shoppers will be banned fairly quickly, or have to stop posting many of the deals.

super mods and admin will decide if the threadjacking and flaming posts warrent a infraction or warning. If it is reported, we will take a look at it and decide if it is truly harsh enough or so FAR off topic to warrent a warning or infraction.

Ladywaterwind is being trasfered over to a HCW bad trader listing. We are still working on the details of all that.

Peer review and 3 strikes are out. Both were staff intensive to keep track on who did what and when. The new infraction system is all automatic with the board software and all "we" have to do is click a button, check off some boxed and type in an explanation.

If a mistake is made, or there is an arguement about the infraction we can reverse them as seen fit.

As far as store policy and coupon fraud perhaps I will seperate those two infractions and give them different expiration dates. Because I agree see your point. We do have to play by the rules though as best as we can. Issues on the store policy have come up, on people slipping in expired coupons when the store does not take them. Using ECB's on gift cards and the like.

Let me dicuss that with the other mods.

Actually I have not had a chance to announce this yet, but we redid our paid subscriptions, For $20 a year you can post in all of our entrepenure forums, that means, ebay auctions (or other off site auctions, as many referals as you want, your home buisness, etc.

i am new and i am dislexic so bear with me.:Poke: i do not under stand a few things what is using ecb's on gift cards i have seen like in wallgreens forum that you can take your rr and buy a gift card .i was going to go do that tommorw cause i did not want to lose my rr but if its not true let me know?
