I was wondering the same thing!
This is new to me.
How does it work?
I initiated several trades with no response.
It's unusual for several people to all happen to not log on or refrain from answering.
Thanks for any input!

DB is too slow for me to do trades there. I keep WL and HL there and also use it to see who has what and then PM to initiate trades. I do replay if i get notifications but I ask to switch to PMs.
Many people (me included) dont use the db for trading because it runs ridiculously slow for us. If there are trade requests in there for me, I honestly have no idea since it will take until tomorrow for the trading tab to load. I would look in the trading forum as well for what youre looking for.
ok, thanks.
Another q: when I see that someone has what I want via the database, why cannot I see their wish list so that I may offer something they want right off the bat?

When I started using HCW I thought the DB was going to be so awesome. You could find people right away that had things you wanted but.... It is so so so slow. I still would post my have and wish list but I think contacting the person that may have something posted through a PM is the fastest way to do a trade.
Some people do not have a wish list posted with items in it. If you go to the trades forum for your haves and ISO list you will find some great traders in there. You will find people that always get lots of inserts and almost always have what you want. Good luck to you all in finding what you need.
N. CA wife and mother of 2 girls ages 16 & 10Take a look at my have list here
You can see traders' WLs. Go to 'Trades (actual and potential)'. For each trade match-up you will see a list of traders who have your WL items. For each trader you will see 'Traders Lists' (WL/HL), 'Trader's Details' (PM and other info) and 'Initiate Trade' to send a DB message (the one i don't use and send a PM instead).
