Default Question about initiating a trade

    Hi everyone,

I recently initiated a trade with someone. They have a coupon that I could really use this week, so I clicked the Initiate Trade button and attached a comment to it. I *think* it sent... What does it look like when you receive a trade request? Does it show up like a private message? Will it be easily visible to the other person? And how will I know if they agree to trade with me? Will I get a private message in response?
They haven't replied yet so I'm just not sure if they're not interested or if I didn't do it right! Thanks for your help. :)

I always make it a practice of PM'ing the person I am initiating a trade for as well, just as an FYI, with an "I sent you a DB trade, are you interested in trading with me?" Not sure if you would want to do this, but I find it prompts them to check the DB for your specific trade, just in case they get caught up checking the forums and forget to look in the DB.

Yes, I totally agree with phaedraval - I have missed trade requests from the database many times, simply because I do not use the database that often and forget to check. A quick PM is always a good idea, and I'm sure whoever the other trader is will be kind enough to let you know if they simply were not interested, or just missed the request :)

    Great advice!

I would also send a pm as well just as a back-up. When you get a pm it automatically shows you a pop-up box whenever you log in or when the pm is sent if you are already online. The database notification is alot smaller and is easier to miss - or at least it is to me
