Auctions & Paypal question

Ok so I found an auction that i would like to bid on but I'm a little unsure about some wording.

PayPal (Existing Funds/Personal Transaction Tab/Non Credit Card Funded)

I have a Paypal account that is linked to my bank account...can I bid on the auction even though I don't have existing funds in my pp account? I've sent $$$ as a gift to my sister and she never got charged and neither did I, it just came directly out of my bank account.

No- They actually want the money to already be in paypal, not something that has to be brought in from another source because if the back up source isn't reliable (though it might be on your part), they wont receive their payment.

Thanks for answering, I'm glad I know this now...Well then I guess I'm gonna have to add some $$$ to my pp account. Unfortunately that takes 3 days and I'll probably miss that auction.

if this is someting you want to do in the future, transfer some money now and just keep it there for the in case.

as far as missing the auction, keep checking as they tend to be more of the same!

Do you have a CC also attached to your PP account? If you do, then you can send existing funds via your checking account using the personal gift tab. The CC acts as a back up funding source, so they will pay the money out instantly. If you don't, it will take a few days for them to verify your credit card though, so it wouldn't help with this auction.

Whenever I've sent my sister $$$ from PP, she gets it within minutes. My bank account and ATM card are both linked to my account. I just double checked PP and there's no other CC on there. I do have a PP business account because I sometimes sell on Ebay, so I don't know if that means anything...I also have a PP business ATM card.

I'm also in a swap group on FB and when I choose someones box, I always use PP to pay for my shipping charges and no one has ever told me that they didn't get their money right away.
