QUESTION What is considered a Fair Trade?

I recently offered up $15 worth of Similac Checks...and had several different offers, My question is when you offer someone something should it be close to the same value of what is being offered or not?

So Far i have been offered

    A $6 Walmart Gift Card

2 $1/1 Pampers Wipes along with an Unopened Bottle of J&J Baby Shampoo

Just Stamps and a random Potluck

A bunch of 0.75/1 Huggies coupons (all expire 9/30 and she was offering 12) + $1/1 Pampers Wipes (offered 2 of these)

Are these fair trades or not? Im new so im trying to learn what is fair and what isnt? Thanks!

It is fair if both parties are happy with the trade. What is valuable to someone might not be valuable to someone else and vice versa.

The $6 WM card seems good to me. I mean, you can use for anything

I'm new too, and I don't know what random stamps and Potluck are

I personally tend to trade $$ value for $$ value. BUT, like someone else mentioned a fair trade is generally what YOU think is fair.

FWIW, most formula checks also go for about 40% face value for PayPal.....that would be about $9 and would expect to get about that much in value for them. GL :)

The $6 WM GC is more than fair. GC's trade pretty much like cash on here, so they are offering you 40% face value for your checks....that probably the best you will see.

The other offers, it depends on how much you need the coupons they are offering. The 12 $.75 Huggies wipes would be an awesome trade if you are somewhere that triples freqently and this could make for 12 free wipes...if you are in the LOND though, they might not be very useful to you.

Really trades are "fair" if both parties are happy. You will get a feel for it rather quickly. Also, once you are no longer a TNT, you can throw things in auction and let the bidding determine what is fair.

    I agree with you on the 40%...but 40% X $15 = $6.00 (not $9.00)

I moved this over to Rules and Guidelines for Trading since it's a trade question but you got lots of good input here. i agree that a good trade is when both parties are happy. That being said, make sure to speak up if you don't feel like you're getting a fair trade. And do expect to send your end first. :)

If those are the best offers you've gotten, I would take the $6 walmart gift card. Even if you don't want it or won't use it, you can trade it for something else here. Don't be afraid to say no either. Though if some of those offers are from seasoned traders, I probably wouldn't even respond to such lowball offers unless the expiration date was right around the corner.

IMO the gift card was the best one.
