If you are stationed overseas and would interested in receiving expired coupons from some of our members, please send me a PM, and I'll add you to our list.

For privacy & safety purposes, HCW does not want to have your address on the boards, but if your name is on this list, it will make it very easy for members to pm you directly to ask for your address.

If you would have some expireds that you'd like to RAOK and send overseas to be used by our military families, PLEASE PLEASE send a pm to one of the members listed above and ask them for their address. PLEASE contact them directly!!!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT SENDING COUPONS OVERSEAS

Q: Where do the Military families use expireds? Oversea stores take them?
A: The Post Exchanges and commissaries on the US bases (overseas) accept coupons up to 6 months expired.

Q: How much does it cost to send a regular envelope overseas?
A: As long as you are sending to a APO or FPO military address, then it's the same rate as it would be to mail within the U.S. Also, envelopes going to our Puerto Rico or Guam wives will be the same rate as well.

The only thing different is when it gets to be over a certain weight, you need to fill out a customs form..

For the people who are overseas and can take expireds, would it be possible for you to post a generic list of what you can and cannot use personally (such as whether you have a cat/dog/baby/dishwasher, etc.) and some products you need (diapers, formula, cleaning supplies, etc.)?? I know you said anything you do not use you will share, but, for example, if someone has some good baby q's, I think they'd prefer to send them to whichever one of you has a baby, KWIM?

Just a thought, you'd still get lots of things not on your list, but I think it would help.

For those of you who have coupons you're willing to send to the folks overseas, please do try PMing the couple of members who are in the first post of the thread too. They may not be checking this thread all the time and I'm sure they'd love to hear from you!

You can give them a thank you too while you're at it! It can't be easy being a military family especially overseas this time of year!

i don't have a generic list i can post. i volunteer at the library on base and whatever coupons i don't use, i teach a couponing class at the library and share the coupons. i do not like throwing coupons away! the only coupons i can not use are store specific coupons.
many thanks to everyone here at HCW that has sent me coupons. without HCW, i would not have much of an opportunity to enjoy the thrills of couponing as many on this board do - i am very very greatful!

Just a FYI!

The USPS is starting something new in March 2008 which will be great for sending large batches of expireds to a APO/FPO address.

They are adding a new size of flat rate box (12 x 12 x 5.5) which will cost $12.95 to mail out, BUT they will be offering a $2.00 discount on this size box for sending to FPO/APO Addresses.

I'm so excited by this. DH's vets club is currently sending out 2 to 3 of the big boxes every month at a cost for $8.95 each but with these new boxes we'll be able to fit so many more coupons in the boxes for only $2.00 more. As long as the people we're sending to don't mind getting more coupons at a time, we'll be golden!!!

Folks, remember, if you're willing to send coupons to military families overseas, it's pretty much qualifies as a RAOK. Please do not send them COD or without proper postage. It would be better if you didn't send at all than have the other person be surprised on the other end with a big box of coupons that needs postage!

I have a couple of ladies I send to regularly (every 2 months or so) sometimes less depending on how much I have to send. I have been using the 8 1/2 X 11 size flat rate envelopes and paying 4.60 per envelope. Not too bad to send hundreds of coupons to each of them. Just something to keep in mind. Also the ladies I send to share with others that can use them as well.
