Re: Qs at TJs? Hi all, I love this site! I joined recently and have gotten some great deals at CVS and doubles at Kmart. Anyway--I worked at Trader Joe's (here in Pittsburgh) for close to two years until reacently quitting. I spent a lot of my time there at the cash register so I can definitely let you know that Trader Joe's accepts manufacturer's coupons. That being said 90% of the store is all Trader Joe's privately branded products--this means that a brand name company will make products for TJ's and will label them as a TJ product. This elminates a lot of overhead such as advertising so the deals are cheaper. For example the TJ's brand yogurt is made by a certain well known organic foods yogurt maker and is 20-50 cents cheaper per container than the name brand sold at local groceries. Not all stores stock the same exact things but I have found that most stores have pretty much the same stuff. It also pays to check the prices as you walk through the store often if something is being discontinued the price will drop dramatically--ie: there was a great frozen Chocolate Peanut Butter torte that was 5.99 and ended up going down to 99 cents each
Here is a partial list of name brand products that TJ's carries: Drinks:
