Congrats to Gertie2u for her kind words to her DH....

My cheers today are all for my wonderful husband. When I decided to get serious about couponing and build up a stockpile, he had his doubts, but he encouraged me to try it. He asked me questions and helped me find ways to tackle hurdles. We agreed not to spend any more than I had been spending on groceries, but it didn't take long for the stockpile to outgrow our tiny pantry. He built a beautiful cupboard to match my beautiful kitchen cupboards with his own hands, and even though he had never done such a thing, he kept working until it looked just right! I think seeing it fill up with products we use so much really got him excited, because now he goes with me every time I coupon shop. I make him out a list of items and he goes and collects all those run-of-the-mill items that don't take any consideration, just time to collect them all up. He tries new products and gives me his reviews without complaining. Just evaluates the product very professionally. Great when I get hold of free products we've never used before. Best of all, he carries all my shopping from the truck into the house whenever we shop! My DH really lives up the "Dear" in DH and I want him to know how proud of him I am. :)

The people I have met on hcw have been so wonderful. They have helped me learn how to use coupons and save money when my fiance and I needed it the most! This is an awesome community. :)

Since everyone else is mentioning all of our HCW friends...I'll change it up a bit. I have to say that every single day, I thank the Lord for my husband. He is the sweetest man...and without him, I would have never gotten through the rough spots. He's my rock!

( I don't need your generous ROAK for bread but wanted to share)

I recently met a woman in the grocery store, obviously a new couponer and she was with her adult daughter. We got to talking and sharing 'deals' that day. Well, a couple weeks later I run into her again, reminding her of the next coupon swap meeting in hopes she could join us.

She and I talked a mile-a-minute about so many things, it was like meeting an old friend. Turns out her brother's wife had an accident several years back and has been in a vegetative state, being cared for in a full time facility. She has 5 children, at the time agest 12 through 17. This lady has become their "Mom" in many ways. All 5 are currently in college, the three girls are in the health field of study and the two boys are in finance, one going for his masters now.

She was talking about buying them all crockpots for Christmas and filling them with spices and recipes she finds on the internet. We have since emailed recipe links back and forth and I come to find out she was thinking of buying a freezer.

We decided to upsize our freezer because ours is too small anymore and although our current one is 15 years old , it's run fine and we decided to see if she would like to have it. So our freezer will find a new home with her! It was a great feeling to know I could give it to someone who clearly deserves it! She's just an amazing woman who reminded me the value of family, that we have to be there for each other, because when all else is in chaos, it's family that matters most.

So in honor of this woman who has given so much for so long, I post here, the generosity of spirit and love she represents is something that inspires me.

I am incredibly thankful for my husband...without him I'm not sure I would have made it thru grad school or my heart surgery. He has been my strength and support when I've needed it most. He always looks at the positive side of everything so that nothing is ever as bad as it seems:)

I have to say I have the nicest sweetest son. He is in his senior year of college and doing so well and getting to be a nice young man. I am so proud of him
