Default Delete - winner chosen RAOK - 100 Feedback

I just reached 100 Feedback. I'd like to send out potluck envie to celebrate

I need help though. I love trains, it's addicting to wait for an envie to come in the mail. But I can't keep the database updated. What's your secret for finding the qs you need? It seems it takes so much time.. Don't worry if it seems obvious.

Leave a post and I'll pick a random winner next Saturday, Sept 24. Thanks for any help. I love HCW!

    Congrats on 100!

I totally understand the addiction part.

    Here's what works for me:
I kind of gave up on the database. My wl is a listing of general products or brands I'm always looking for. When I suspect something will be on sale soon, I edit my list to add that item and, if there is a coupon for it, I list it and the link (if it's an ip).

I do use the database to see if there are any qs for something I know I'm going to need, but I don't rely on it as the basis of my train wl.

(I don't know if any of that made sense, but you can check my wl to see what I mean.)
Please PM me for trades; the database messes with my mind.

I have a general list of the items I use most and sometimes add to it if I know there is a coupon I'm looking for. Then I do the trains and the non-stop RAOK games and usually people will try to match your wishlist. If there is something I want really badly then I make a post in the trade forum that I'm ISO this coupon and usually someone that has it will respond.

I keep all my coupons in my coupon box.. I don't use the DB at all. I use envies to put q's I will want/ need really soon. Other than that I just wing it lol

    Congrats on 100

Ok, I'm unsure whether you are asking how to find coupons you need for your wishlist, or finding coupons to fulfill others' wishlist.

I do not keep a "have" or "need" list.

I have 2 coupon binders - 1 for "keep" (I put anything in here that I would potentially buy if the price were right) and one for "trade" (Anything that I will not use goes in here). Each binder is arranged by month of expiration and then alphabetically.

    For my wishlist:
I made a general list of things that we use in my house and add notes as needed. When I come across a coupon that I really, really love I add it to the top of my wish list as a "looking for".

    For others' wishlists:
I can find them alphabetically in my binders if they have something like "General Mills cereal" or if they have a specific coupon then they usually list the expiration date so it's easy to flip to that month and see if I have it.

I don't have a WL either. I try to keep my eyes out for extra inserts and wonderful RAOK's on HCW.

Thanks for all the help so far. Bumping up for more advice. I'm looking for how to find qs that I need for my wish list. But ideas for organizing qs are helpful too. I get tired of looking through the database. Can anyone tell me how they find out a q is hot?

I'll keep this up til Friday.

Hmm... I don't mind checking the database, it seems like the most concentrated amount of information to me, and I certainly am aggressive about adding things I find if they're not there. If I can't find a coupon in the database, the only other thing I try is to go to that manufacturer's website and hope it just hasn't been logged yet.

Hi! I am having trouble getting organized myself. I spend time looking at other people's wishlists and havelists. I often find reference to coupons that I ddin't know were out there. Best of luck!

I always look at up coming ads and ask for those coupons a week ahead. Then I'll be prepared for the up coming week. Some places you won't be able to look at the up coming week, then just ask for coupons on stuff you always buy.

    Congrats on 100!
