    Default Stockpile Items Barter anyone?

Not to sure if this is the right place to put this....mods help me out if it's in the wrong place.

I have met some really good people on the site. I have even seen amazing pics of stockpiles. I know that we all have winters to store up for, but is there something you have to much of, but are in need of something else? Yes, shipping could be a factor, but would you rather spend $20 for a year supply of toilet paper or watch all those vitamins/crackers expire?

Maybe it's not your stockpile that you would like to barter, maybe you have a service and are willing to take 3 body-washes for your time and energy.

I am an Air Sign whose constantly dreaming up ideas and juggling a few at a time, however, I know I don't have room on my plate to take this to it's optimal potential. So, if you see the concept and have the time, be my guess...

Thought about a name "Bartering to Stay Sane or Bartering to Gain"

If you live in the DFW Metroplex and are open to bartering let me know what you have and I will check my box of extras.

    Just my thoughts, yours please?

Bartering is a great idea and we have been using it some since we lost our family business in '08. I trade items out of our stockpile for haircuts! Good lick with your idea! Inspiring!

that is a wonderful idea especially for people like me who don't live close to stores to take advantage of the stockpile deals. I live in a town of 500 and I have to drive 1/2 hr or more so I only go once or twice a month to stock up.

I would barter in a heartbeat and I hope we can get something going soon! ;)

If you ever watched Jericho on netflix, it is about towns fighting against each other for the basics of life, water and food because of what the government did to its own people. A real eye opener.

I think bartering could be a great thing too and wish it was used more. When I'm looking for something on Craigslist I always look at the barter section and sometimes see things I'm interested in but I wouldn't know how to go about doing it and I sure wouldn't want to get ripped off.

Not sure what I'd offer in return though except maybe cooking and of course that would limit the transaction to those very local.

I have a good friend I barter with!
    Things we have bater.
I hate to clean house and she loves it so she clean mine and I give her something out of stockpile! Last time I gave her laundry stuff I couldn't use. I also give her 10 bucks a wk to pick my daughter up from school. She also makes my kids stuff and I will give her food. She is watching my dog for a wk well on vacation so I filled her gas tank up. She needs money food and laundry stuff and I need service done cheap. It is such a win win thing we have going. Sometime if my hubby and me go movies doing wk I have her watch my daughter for hr and I pay her 5 bucks. I also have my friend drive me around because I can't stand driving. I will give her gas money for doing this. I have a nice car but just can't stand driving. She does more stuff for me also.

I'm so happy that there are others like me. I have yet to meet anyone locally who would be interested in it yet, but I know as the clock ticks more will begin to open up to this idea soon.

I did some more thinking last night. Maybe, if you are up to....list some of the items you are seeking or list anything that you have to offer...then the connections may begin to flow from there.

3timesoccermom, what part of Texas are you from? I enjoy eating....do you make preserves or can veggies?

healingMD - I am about mid-way between Houston and Galveston. Unfortunately no, I am too lazy to do canning and that sort of thing. Don't sew or do anything crafty either. Basically I'm a dud!! LOL

couponlover26 - what a great thing you 2 have going on!!

3timesoccermom, you're no dud....most duds I know, don't cook and definitely don't try to save any money.

ilove2$hop, I'm always running to the store for great deals...LMK, if there's something you are lacking. I'm open to pretty much everything.

Does anyone else can veggies? Anyone need a website?
