I have good news and bad news.

Good news: I finally received my envie from Gardencook!!!
Bad news: I ONLY received an envie - there was nothing inside!!!

Gardencook, don't worry about a resend. As the USPS reminded me, "these things happen"
Merciful conductress, just mark it as received.
As soon as you stop sobbing over the heart-rending message the Postmaster sent me.

Sorry for the delay in responding Concettaz! Holiday weekend was hectic and mailing then would give the post office a few extra days to lose something!
Even though you said I didn't have to resend, I did put together another envie and it will go out to you tomorrow. Just wish the first one had reached you intact. Some of what I sent you were Qs I only had one of.

Received my envelopes from savings44 and MrsLooper from my post today. They look like they've been through the wars. The post lady gave them to me separately and said something about the envelopes still being whole despite where they'd been. I didn't quite catch on until she'd already headed off, but I think she was letting me know they'd been caught in the machinery given how they look. Thanks so much for your patience with me reporting so late. I just didn't really have anything to report previously.

I'd like to add special thanks to each of them for the very nice coupons inside!

Do the math - how many people don't like them? Hint: one of them would be me.
I'm almost tempted to "like" them so I can have the satisfaction of "unliking them". Harrumph, I say!


First I received an empty envie from Gardencook (you already know that story).
I want to take a moment to thank Gardencook for the re-send I received from her today. I TOLD her she didn't have to send an envie, because it was obviously not her fault. Silly sweet lady ignored me and sent me one anyway. It was wonderful: 20 non-inserts, a handful of inserts, a beautiful butterfly card and a magnetic smiley flower I now have on my fridge for when I need a "smile". Ummm ... like right now.

Gertie2u just posted that she received 2 envies that looked like they have been through a war.

Now the latest frustration. During CrAzY's mailout week, I went out one evening and put 2 envies in the postal box around the corner.
2 envies. Same postage. Same postal box. Same time.
One was received 6 days later.
The other apparently ended up in one of USPS's coupon-envie-munching-machines.
Can I sue USPS for inflicting emotional distress?

I love forums where you can vent!
I feel better.
OK, back to resending an envie! Them's the breaks.

There was just a race train to see who could get their envies to the finish line first. I didn't sign up, because traveling across the country, I was afraid I'd doom my teammates to failure, no matter how early I mailed. I was joking to my husband that I had a "GREAT" idea for a new train -- a reverse race. Everyone could mail on time, and whoever received latest due to the postal service could get consolation prizes. After the latest posts, it doesn't sound as much like a joke!
