DD3 RAOK Pet Coupons for Best Job Seeking Advice (Winner Jenn640)

    Hi All,

Currently I have an envelope full of dog and cat coupons that I currently can't use for my 9 cats and 2 dogs. These are misc. treats, bag food and general stuff. Please let me know if you need cat, dog or both. The most helpful post will be selected by Sat. evening at 7 PM EST.

I need advice on how to look for a job-so far I've looked on Craigslist, Indeed, Hot Jobs, my state workforce website, FACEBOOK, local newspapers and free papers! I'm registered on each of the websites and I spend about 2 hours per day looking at ads and responding to them. I've been unemployed since Oct. 1st, 2010 and I used to work at the Employment Commission so I know how to find a job-I'm just not having any luck in a conventional sense so I must now step outside the box to look! I need your help with this!

You may post as many times as you like if you supply different ideas for each one. I'm almost to the point of wearing a big sign on the highway to advertise that I need a job! I have a college degree, clean criminal background and have held several state jobs over the past 20 years. I'm 46 years young but, I look like I'm in my 30's...

Thanks for all of your help!

Try asking friends and family if they are hiring where they work. Or maybe they have inside information. Have you had any interviews?

I haven't had an interview in over 2 months now...I keep getting rejection letters in the mail-they don't even want an interview for jobs that I'm capable of doing...I just don't understand the current job market. I may try to stand out on the highway with signs to attract attention. Last week I applied to be the Chick-fil-A COW! LOL

Have you tried city/county jobs like working for the city/county? Looking on city/county websites to search. Since you have a state employment experience, city/county would be a good option. What about Community/Charity Organization Businesses that hire like Meals on Wheels, Red Cross etc? Hospitals/Clinics? Retirement/Nursing homes/Home Health offices? Colleges or Universities? What is your degree in? What are you wanting to do?
Are you going and filling out applications or are you doing online applications? I know that a lot of online applications are automatically rejected, based on keywords the applicant may use. Having a Cover letter and Updating your resume. Even though "everything theses days is internet", it is still best recommended to actually apply in person. Get to know the reception or person that gives you the application or the person in charge of hiring whether it be a manager, asst mgr, department head, human resources dept etc. Calling for job application status and following up. Hope this helps! Good luck! BTW-2 DOGS 2 Cats

For extra money try mystery shopping @ msishopper.net. Maybe they will keep you busy in your state. ;)

it depends on what assignments they have for you in your city. This company is legit, you do not have to pay to sign up and you can try to get certified to get more jobs.

In my experience, I had to just apply to anything I thought my take a look at me plus some stuff that didn't fit my degree. I had to take a minimum wage job while looking and kept going to school. So the only advice I can give you is, keep your head up your job will come along and just apply to EVERYTHING possible. I always hating hearing that but it did work. Your job will come along and it will be a great one!

I am on this site http://www.linkedin.com
It is a great way of networking with colleagues you never know who has a job.
I went through an agency the last few times I was employed but a lot of employers are cutting out that right now to cut down costs...

I used monster.com and was very successful in the amount of responses I got even 4 months later if you can believe that.

    I have 2 dogs only.
    Best of luck to you.
