I completely understand. I am in the exact situation you are, only my kids are young. I'm supposed to be on my meds but I never take them, kinda makes me feel like I'm not being myself.
One thing I'm doing this summer to raise myself up a little, is going back to school. I'm in good spirits that having somewhere to be everyday and making sure that I absolutely get "good grades" will help give me a sense of accomplishment.
Also, one thing that makes me happy every weekend is buying little things at garage sales. I love it! Leaving the house with $10 and coming back with stuff for .50 and 1.00 each makes me happy! I pick a lot of antiques and little house decor. I always hide them from my hubby in the garage or in my trunk for a week or two cause he hates when I "buy more crap" lol but hey atleast I'm not out spending money we don't have on shoes and purses like I used to.
    Wish you the best. xoxo

I had a visit yesterday from my friend who has a degree in psychology and she just listened to my problems and offered some advice too. She was actually here to apologize for her husband's (the Pastor) reaction to my request to use our church facilites for a Baby Shower. The Church demanded that I pay $50 to use the facilities for 2 hours even after I told them that I didn't have any income coming in-they didn't care... I've decided to return to my previous church because they don't care that I'm broke-they love me for who I am. Others from the church found out about it and have tried to smooth things over but, I need to go...

Today's my son's graduation from high school. I have to pay for his fall semester in 2 weeks and I only have enough money for 1 semester at the local community college. We're using our tax money to pay for it...I can't believe how expensive it is! My son cannot get a job either-we're both looking at the same time...We're both tired of filling out applications and never receving a phone call.

I beat the blues by either eating my favorite food or going outside and getting some sunshine - sunshine seems to always beat the blues.

Sorry you are having such a tough time of it. =[ I like to write in my journal when I am going through those gloomy days ... it is something simple but really helps get feelings out, etc. Then down the road I go back and read them and see how far I have come! =] I truly hope things start looking up for you.

Isn't biplolar fun??? I have it also and have found that sometimes I just have to wait out the tough times, which usually don't last all that long. I'm rapid cycling with mixed cycles. Which means I'm laughing hysterically and crying at the same time all while getting nothing done. (but starting a million things.) lol

Keep your head up, like I was telling a friend the other day, every time something bad happens it happens for a reason. You may not know the reason. But then something good always comes along with it. God doesn't do anything without reason. Sometimes it seems the bad hangs around for awhile, but just hang in there, things will turn around. Just stay strong and keep believing in yourself.

This is semi-related, but I thought I would mention it. Your son might want to look into doing Americorps. It's often referred to as the "domestic Peace Corps". I did two years of service with an AmeriCorps program and for each year of service, I received an educational stipend for ~$5,000 so ~$10,000 all together. The educational stipend can be used towards higher education or towards paying back certain loans. Plus, I met some great people and got some work experience.

I know college is expensive so I just wanted to throw that option out there as that might help alleviate some of your stress!!
