Time to Celebrate Our Furry Friends with a RAOK!

So as much as I wish I had my puppy dog down here with me, I just can't right now. Plus I can't ever really have a cat because of allergies. Why in the heck am I telling you all this?? Because my animal-less household means I don't need all these coupons for pet products and you have the opportunity to take full advantage of that!

I have over 60 coupons for various dog and cat items. They include treats, food, litter, and lots more! The earliest expiration date is 4/30/2011 but most are in May and beyond. I will even throw in a coupon for a treat for the human!

In order to be eligible for this RAOK, you need to post a funny furry friend story and I'll choose a funniest story winner tomorrow at 9 pm CST. I'll post and PM the winner at that time!

i am an animal lover just like you. in fact when i was a girl, i wanted a cat so bad from my younger cousin timmy, that i offered him a brand new coloring book and a brand new big box of crayons for 'MUFFIN'. guess what-- i won!! my cousin wanted the coloring book and box of crayons worse.

My dear daughter and I were debating in the back yard about the rules of cell phone usage. As I attempted to reason with a teenager, I briefly lost track of my porker of a shih tzu, Pasha. Pasha almost never strays. If you try to walk her, she lays down like a diva and demands to be carried. She is a whopping one pound overweight and has been placed on a diet by her Vet. Pasha, who understands the word cookie, is not happy about this.

Suddenly I realized Pasha was not under my feet as usual. Confident she would pounce on me like a cheetah, I yelled, "Cookie!" to no avail. We spent the next half hour terrified.

Just when hope seemed lossed, a car drove up with a man calling from it, "Are you looking for a dog?" "Yes, Yes!," my husband exclaimed as he hopped in the stranger's car and drove quite a distance down the street.

I once heard it said that a human can smell spagetti sauce cooking, but a dog smells the onions, the garlic, the shalots. . .individually and from a very great distance. I am convinced this is true.

It seems the neighbor at the end of the street had ordered a Domino's Pizza. Pasha apparently smelled it and immediately decided to dump her diet. She ran up the street to beg the delivery guy for something "real" to eat. The family thought Pasha was adorable and invited her in where she was promptly given her own plate of pizza. While I was screaming, "Cookie!" like a mad person and my husband searched the woods in horror, she was a dining diva.

I wanted to be upset with her for making me worry, but when I saw that precious little face full of red sauce, I melted and showered her with kisses. Besides as a porker myself, I can relate.

We have two cats, one is a female tortishell main coon. and the other is a male blue/white bicolor persian. The female plays fetch with her mice, NO JOKE. You throw it and she will bring it back to you to throw it again. The male LOVES boxes, bags, etc. and will push them all around the house. I actually have a recent picture of him doing this. I hope you don't mind me sharing the pic.

We have two cats right now that my DD picked out as kittens 2 years ago. When I was a child we always had a dachsie, one of them loved to be let down the slide after we greased it up with some waxed paper. It was very funny to watch her running down the slide so fast and then racing over to the ladder asking to be lifted to the top again.

I have a 5 month old puppy and he is huge already. We bought him a harness to wear when he goes for a walk. He is still getting use to it. Well Sunday morning my neighbor and I decided to go for an early morning walk. I took my dog off the leash so he could run with the other dog. He came to a yard that has some un-level grass, as he was running full speed he decided he to put his head done to try and bite the harness. Well he hit an un-level part of that yard and did a full speed front flip. Then he quickly stood up and looked at me like what just happened. He is so clumsy, but it is funny to watch, especially on moments like this one.

My dog Laanchele who I no longer have sadly did the funniest thing ever and I still laugh about it today. Shes an all white lab/shepherd mix and one day i was getting ready to go play bingo in the evening and could not find my dog or my bingo marker.
I looked out on my back porch and there was laanchele covered from head to paws in blue ink with marker in her mouth smiling like a cheshire cat! Was so funny , its such a shame I had no camera around to get a photo :(

When I was a kid, my dog was a theif. He would steal anything not nailed down (litterally). *LOL* He was this little white mutt and he would go to the neighbors big german shepherd that was tied to a tree and steal the dogs water dish. I think it was some kind of conquest. It's amazing that he never got eaten. My dad was always so embarrassed taking the bowls back. A different neighbor had a huge bag of potting soil on his porch. My little dog went onto his porch and drug the bag half a block down the street to our house. My neighbor caught him but thought it was so funny he just followed. It took him forever to drag that bag and to this day I have no idea what he was trying to do. He was such a loveable dog....he just had sticky paws....

I can't believe we used to let him roam the neighborhood....i have 3 dogs and 10 cats and woudln't think to let them out of the house unsupervised. Times sure have changed i guess.
