Have a great time, take lots of pics.. Maybe a portable dvd player for the ride. I loved Universal Studios if you plan on going there.

Funstuff Re: RAOK: We're leaving for Disney in 4 days!

*Be at the parks at rope drop=you can see & do so much in those early hours before the park gets crowded

*We eat breakfast in the hotel room to save time & $.(you could bring your own milk & cereal and donuts if you prefer).

*Use the fast pass machines for the really popular attractions.

*Be sure to visit Mickey's Toontown Fair at Magic Kingdom-this is going to close permanently 2/12/11.

**Take gloves -I'm really glad I did!
They are nice to warm your hands on those chilly evenings.

    ***Have lots of fun

I hope that you have a wonderful time!

My advice would be to purchase inexpensive rain ponchos at the dollar store, one for everyone, for all of the unexpected Florida rainfall! Even if it looks sunny, it rains here almost every day in the afternoons! AND... rain ponchos at the parks are over $15! (We learned this the hard way one day when it was sunny in the am and there were torrential downpours in the afternoons)

Pick a spot for the parades early. You can even spread out a poncho to "Save some space." We usually pack a lunch and eat while we wait for the parade to start, and take turns going to the restrooms while someone stays with the strollers.

The upper train platform at the end of Main Street is a GREAT place to watch the evening fireworks at the Magic Kingdom. Plus, it is right by the exit, so you don't have to fight the throngs of people that leave right after the fireworks end.

If you plan to go to the Magic Kingdom, be there at park opening, as the previous poster stated. Then book it to the back of the park and do all of the "long line" rides that you want to hit first. It will save tons of time later in the day!

There are some really neat things to look at and do at Downtown Disney. There is a panning for gemstones area tucked into the Dinosaur Restaurant gift shop that is really neat, and an sand pit for the young kids to "dig for dino bones". If you are on Disney Dining, Wolfgang Puck's restaurant was included at the time that we went.

Great advice from flower$ I'll add if you can use the busses to get around they shouldn't be very crowded this time of year...also you can usually get food to go in the hotel restaurants and store/deli's like pizza etc.. so you could eat some meals in your room breakfast is great advice and sometimes just planing to eat one meal in a park is best. When our family would go to Disneyland my mom always let us eat one meal in a "sit down restaurant" in the park...usually dinner. I grew up in CA with Disneyland but fell in love with Disneyworld. We would always pick one place to meet up at if anybody got lost...like in front of the train station on main street. There is tons to do at each resort and tons of free stuff to do. I loved going to check out the Animal Kingdom resort and have dreamed of staying there. We stayed at the Swan in Jan several years ago and traveled by bus and boat to diff. areas instead of driving.Realize you can't do it all or see it all so plan on just enjoying your fam. and when you stay in the park you can easily take a nap and go to another park for the second half of the day. Be sure and check the weather on weather dot com so you can be prepared.

There are lots of free and cheap things to do down there. You can rent bikes and go to Chip and Dale's campfire sing-a-long at Fort Wilderness. The campfire was fun cause you can bring stuff to make smores (or they sell a kit there). Some people were roasting hot dogs too. Then Chip and Dale come out to take pictures with all the kids.

My kids love checking out hotels, so we love just taking the monorail, bus or boat to the different hotels.

There is an electric water parade behind the Polynesian and other nearby hotels.

You can watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the Polynesian beach or Fort Wilderness.

I"ve never been to Disney, but I have done more long car rides than I care to remember. Schedule a stops along the way -- even if it's just a rest area or a mall to walk around. Pack a picnic to make at least one stop seem extra special.
    Have a great time.
