ISO: Seeds and instructions/advice on how to grow indoor container veggies and herbs!

I am 23 and want to start growing veggies and herbs INSIDE all year round. I am looking for QUALITY seeds of well producing plants. (Not walmart seeds) I also need your help in tips on how to grow / maintain / harvest the plant as I have NO experience in container growing at all.

    >>>>The plant cannot be toxic to cats in any way<<<<

I'm not sure what all I am looking for but here is a list of possibilities:
    Lettuce
    Green/Red/Yellow Pepper
    Tomato
    Onions?
    Cucumber
    Spinach
    Herbs

If you have something that grows well inside and doesn't take up a ton of space I am open for suggestions.

We wont eat the following because we are picky:
    beets
    radish
    eggplant
    squash

I will trade for stamps, ppef, inserts, btfe, just about anything!

    Thanks for looking!

I don't need to trade, but I'll offer some free advice to help you get started.
Lettuce and herbs can grow indoors year round.
Tomato plants can get very big and cucumber plants like to spread out, so unless you have a lot of space you might want to consider planting them outside when the weather in your area is appropriate.
My dh is the real gardener in the family. When he buys seeds, he always does it through a mail order company. Burpee is one of the oldest, but you can do a quick Google search and come up with dozens of others.
Please PM me for trades; the database messes with my mind.
