Does he have an Ipod? If so maybe an Ipod gift card-so he can get some songs?
My son was into Legos at that age-everything was Legos with him. lol
With only 11 days to Christmas, my kids shopping is done, however I want to get my neighbor's kid (an 11 year old boy) a Christmas present because he is great with my younger kids (comes over to play with them) and is always respectful offering to help. We do live in income-based housing, so his family isn't "well-off" and neither are we. I want ideas on something fairly inexpensive, but will be a decent gift to give him. He doesn't seem to hang out with many kids his age, plays PS2 (don't know what games) and is active in sports.
I will choose a random winner TODAY @ 9pm EST to win a 25 coupon potluck (will try to match winner wishlist). Just post with some ideas on what to get him. My kids are ages 1 & 4, so I'm lost on this pre-teen age!

Sounds like a great kid!

Cash is always good. My nieces are always appreciative of small amounts like $2 or $3. Even jingly change feels good in a pocket that's usually empty.
If you are buying something, my 5th grader son said this about the gift exchange at school, "A zhu zhu pet would be ok for me at home but for school, I think we should buy those mini skateboards."
That being said, Diary of a Wimpy Kid is a very good book for this age group. The newest one is about $7 paperback.
My son who is 11 is into the tech decks, gamestop games, legos, and thoe mini skaeteboard things that you can build and put together yourself. If he is active in sports why not that 3 pack of balls they sell. Has the football, soccer abd basketball all in one.

I called my aunt yesterday with the same delima...what to buy for her son, my 10 year old cousin. Here is what she suggested:
Air Hogs - there are a million versions from $15-$50
Shrek - the final chapter (this is what I bought -on sale for $16.99 at CVS this week and I had ECBs to burn). There is also a $5 coupon for it on coupons.com.
Nerf guns
Moon shoes
HTH...

Teck Decks, Nerf Guns, Flarp, Koozies, Hex bugs, ToyStory3 movie, Whoopie Cushion, Nerf football or dart set, Air Hogs, Diary of Wimpy Kid, Leggo sets, board games . . . these are all things that my son (soon to be eleven loves). More practical "useful" things he likes are hoodies from Aeropostale, those funky toboggans that all the kids are wearing, and cologne.
I would go with an actual gift unless you are 100% sure the parents won't use/spend a GC or cash. Just sayin'
Please Help me saveon the things I need here!
if you can say a prayer for my family!
