Re: Potluck for an uplifting story
I have ALWAYS been a worrier-even in first grade (I'm sure I would have been one in Kindergarten but I didn't go).
I started going to a new church a few months after Katrina. The church decided to send some people down to New Orleans to help in April, 8 months later. I didn't really know the people who were going, and hadn't flown before, but I decided to go.
Standing in the 9th ward and seeing that people had lost EVERYTHING they owned, changed my outlook on alot of things. I have since gone back 3 more times.
I still worry about normal things (the kids, money) but I am so much more content with my life.
