I'm looking for some suggestions! Here's the deal:

My husband and I have decided to start a family (beyond our two wonderful dogs!) We've been married six years, and this baby will be the first niece/nephew and grandchild on my side, so assuming I get pregnant, this will be BIG news to my family!

So, in order to enter this ROAK, I'm looking for a fun, interesting, or exciting way to tell my family once I'm pregnant. (I'd wait until I'm actually pregnant, but I have some good ROAK Qs now and I don't want them to expire!) If you don't have a suggestion for how to tell my family our news, you are still welcome to enter with a suggestion on good diaper prices, a funny story about being pregnant/having kids, or even just a !

I'm offering 2 different RAOK rewards:My favorite suggestion about how to tell my family will get the choice of $5 (through PP or concealed cash) or a coupon potluck. The second reward will be whatever the first winner doesn't choose, and my husband will pick a random number for that winner. This RAOK will end no earlier than the evening of Monday, 8/9 (depending on how many suggestions I receive).

Hi! To announce our 2nd pregnancy we rented one of those big yard cards and had it say "baby #2 due June 25, 2009" Then we called both sets of our parents and told them to come over the next morning and "see some new landscaping we did."

So sat morning, here they come, expecting to see some tulips or mulch and THERE was the big sign in front of our house. :-) They were shocked and loved it.

Teh cool thing was that WE knew it was coming so we got the camcorder ready and filmed each of them as they drove up to the house and realized the sign.

Okay, for the 3rd pregnancy, we had already planned a trip to Disney and because I was high-risk, I knew if our parents knew we were preggo before hand, they'd FREAK and worry.

So we didn't tell them till we got back.

We took my picture outside Splash Mountain and I'm pointing to the sign that says "Expectant Mothers Should Not Ride." We got a splash mountain photo frame for it, printed the pic, and wrapped the gifts. Again, told both sets of parents to come over and see our Disney pics when we got back. Gave them both their "souveniers" and TA-DA! Oh, and I'd had an ultrasound already, so that was in there too...it was a photo clip like thing that holds 3 pics.

Now you may not be going to Disney anytime soon, but if you are going to Six Flags or any sort of theme park, that could be a neat thing, to go stand by the sign and take your pic.

Well, for our first child, we made a scrapbook of our lives together and on the very last page was the 1st ultrasound picture. It was a huge hit!

With our second child, we sent out our normal picture card and behind it was another one with the ultrasound picture and the expected arrival date.

I announced that I was pregnant at Christmas time a few years ago. I put the positive pregnancy test stick in a gift bag under the tree. After we opened all of our gifts, I "noticed" that there was a gift bag hidden under the tree that was "unopened" and gave it to my parents. My parents opened the bag and saw the 2 pink lines and knew right away what it meant ~ that they were going to be grandparents for the first time!!!!

We sent the Grandparents flowers once we found out we were pregnant with a note attached-congratulations grandma & grandpa!
