mine wants to go to the park and play. That is good to them to play and get some sunshine and really helps with nap time.
School is ending in a week and I thought that it was time to celebrate with a RAOK! If you are interested, please post here with a craft idea or game for my just about 5 year old son that he can do when he is bored and just wants to watch tv all the time.
I will have him pick a winner out of a jar/hat on Friday morning before he goes to school.
Thanks in advance for all of the ideas! :)
The envie will be filled with at least 50 coupons (no junk ~ or baby unless you can use that!) :)
Have fun sharing ideas!

my kids loved making silly putty!
- Elmer’s GlueŽ (8 oz. bottle of Elmer’s Glue-All)
- Borax (a powdered soap found in the grocery store)
- Large mixing bowl
- Plastic cup (8 oz size works well)
- Spoon
- Measuring cup
- Food coloring (the spice of life)
- Water
- Paper towel (hey, you’ve got to clean up!)
- Zipper-lock bag (don’t you want to keep it when you’re done?)
- Empty plastic soda bottle with cap
- Water
Empty the entire bottle of glue into a mixing bowl. Fill the empty bottle with warm water and shake (okay, put the lid on first and then shake). Pour the glue-water mixture into the mixing bowl and use the spoon to mix well. Add the glue-water mixture to the glue in the mixing bowl. Go ahead… add a drop or two of food coloring. Measure 1/2 cup of warm water into the plastic cup and add a teaspoon of Borax powder to the water. Stir the solution – don’t worry if all of the powder dissolves. This Borax solution is the secret linking agent that causes the Elmer’s Glue molecules to turn into slime.
While stirring the glue in the mixing bowl, slowly add a little of the Borax solution. Immediately you’ll feel the long strands of molecules starting to connect. It’s time to abandoned the spoon and use your hands to do the serious mixing. Keep adding the Borax solution to the glue mixture (don’t stop mixing) until you get a perfect batch of Elmer’s slime. You might like your slime more stringy while others like firm slime.
When you’re finished playing with your Elmer’s slime, seal it up in a zipper-lock bag for safe keeping.
have fun!!

how lucky you are to spend the summer with him!
If I could be home with my child I would:
1. teach her about couponing - great way to learn scissors and cutting
2. ride bikes
3. make scrapbooks or cards
4. Read books - make the library part of the routine
5. make cupcakes and then share with someone new
6. Plan a neighborhood party
7. Plan a kid parade - decorate bikes
8. Volunteer - even just taking a walk and picking up trash is a great lesson
Thanks for the opportunity

I bring mine to storytime at the library. Or we play a rhyming game by looking around the house and finding things that rhyme. Or we play I Spy.
I put them in an old over-sized shirt and give them finger paints & paper on the floor. (or outside on the patio) They love being allowed to get messy and I always hang their artwork on the walls in their room so they can show them to everyone who visits.
I can use baby q's btw. :) especially diaper or wipes q's

My five year old daughter loves homemade play dow. We mix flour salt and warm water mixed with food coloring.
We have a rubbermaid (well actually 3...cause I have 3 kids LOL) full of sand...with a lid..and sand toys. It's nice...as it's small, contained and the lid keeps kitty's out....and they don't get covered in sand because it's just a clear rubbermaid size...so they can't sit in it LOL.
