My dh and I got a fish fryer this year from his grandfather! That would be great if we didn't already own 2 and his grandfather KNEW we owned two already. We just camped out over there in Oct and grandfather commented on the ones we brought with us!!!!

Favorite and Crazy.... my 13 yr old son gave me a dish that he made at school when they were learning pottery..... It is VERY brightly painted and honestly doesn't look like anything I've ever seen before in my life! I had to ask what it was... YIKES!! He told me it's a "Sushi Dish" to put your Sushi on.

OOOOOOOhhhhh Okay, yeah.... I can see that! NOT...... And to top it all off.... ds knows I hate sushi!

Of course, it got great raves from me on Christmas morning! He was so proud of himself, lol.
In pottery class my son made a little bowl and I use it for paperclips at my office.

Best one -- the silver charm from DD that says "Mother". DD is not sentimental at all, so that was serious business for her!

Best one - Targus lap chill mat. It's awesome. It looks like a binder but it's actually for a laptop. It keeps the laptop cool and also is great for stability when I hang on HCW and watch TV at the same time.

My husband hand carved me my logo (a pair of abstract scissors) out of oak. He worked on it for weeks. He sanded it, coated it and it is beautiful. Years ago I commissioned someone to make his logo out of wood which is on his office door, and he wanted to do the same for me. I love it because it was hand made, he did it with love and he was very proud of it

my 17 year olds health and my sanity. No tree no gifts this year.My dd has Lyme disease. She has a pick line in(a IV line that goes in her upper arm across her chest to the tip of her heart) in order to receive daily IV treatments-6 weeks worth. I had shoulder surgery on Dec 11th for a car accident injury. After me suffery for 6 !/2 months of pain before they would do it and her so sick it was a sweet change to have a almost pain free and almost not sick laying on the couch Christmas . An even better after christmas present will be when we go to cummings in the am to hopefully get catherter out of my daughters chest and I am pain free.We did not put up a tree because neither one of us was suppose to lift anything heavy and I am one who does not to ask for a lot of help from people and since I am a single parent no dh or boyfriend to ask we decided not to.Christmas is not all about material gifts as has been stated here-sometimes they are just gifts from above.PS My daughter is directing a play at school and she said her present would be for me to help her give a good party for the cast-I thought it was wonderful for her to think of others.Sorry so long and thanks for the chance.
