Halloween was great. we got rid of almost all the candy we bought but my grandma bought the kids more than what we bought so we have more now.

We just moved into our house (me and my BF and our dog) and it is in a decent sized neighborhood. I thought that there would be plenty of kids going door-to-door so I bought TONS of candy. I looked at the clock and it said 9:00pm and we still didn't have anyone knock at the door!! So....I dressed the dog up and took her next door to go trick-or treating for dog treats. BTW...she is a chihuahua and I dressed her in her Tinkerbell costume...SOOO cute!!! She looked like a fairy princess with a tail. She didn't think that it was funny but loved the treats that she got!!

Well out of 100 houses only 15 or so opened the door to DS6 and one tried to give single m&m's not wrapped up, or peanut butter crackers. After all was said and done Ds6 only got 15 pieces of candy. I feel so bad for him. I was going to go get some from target but I haven't had time...

We have two pugs and this year my daughter (who is 2) dressed up as a pug as well. We took them all trick or treating and it was wonderful! This was her 3rd halloween, but the first one where she really understood what was going on! It was a fantastic time.

Well, last year I bought several bags of candy and not one kid came to the house. (We have several small children on our street, so I was planning for them.) This year I just got one bag of candy, which was half gone by Halloween thanks to DH. Anyway, we had several kids come by this year and almost ran out of candy.
What candy we did have left is already all gone now.

i hate it when you get stuck with lots of leftover candy. been there, done that.

that's why we don't give out candy anymore. instead we give out those austin/keebler 6 packs of cookies and crackers. this way, if we have leftovers, the kids will just bring them to school as snacks.

funny thing thing is, we buy the same amount every year and have leftovers. this year, we weren't home to hand them out so we left a container in front of our door. with the rain, we figured there would be lots of leftovers, but when we got home, it was empty.

i let my daughter spray my hair different colors then went to a friends house and did the routine treating...she said it was the best halloween ever...

We didn't have a very good Halloween this year. The media was trying to get everyone to stay home for Halloween because of h1n1 & even talked about "cancelling" Halloween all together in this area, encouraging people to leave their lights off and everything! My youngest gets sick very easily, so we didn't want to risk it. This is probably why so many of ya'll didn't get as many trick or treaters this year. People are being a lot more cautious than usual. I did let them dress up and go to a few of our neighbors who had made special bags of toys/candy for them. Our neighborhood is mostly retirees and ours are the only kids on the street, so they have a lot of "grandparents" who like to spoil them. We then had a scary movie marathon, ate popcorn and drank hot cocoa. It was O.K., but I hated that they didn't get to go trick or treating.
