You have candy left?!?!? We took my DSD out TorTing "in town" (we live in a smaller town outside of town limits so everywhere is "in town") and there were at the most 10 houses participating in giving out treats!! Lots of kids, but not many treats. Disappointing I tell ya...

my day was a sad one... had lots of the full size candy for this.and didn't see any kids out..... but just 2 weeks before in my area a 7 yr old girl. Sommer was kidnapped and killed on her way home from school... they found her in a few days... so our whole area did other things i guess... i dont have kids so not sure what they all did... but it has been an awful time.. you never think it will happen so close to home... i feel for her family... any way... i am giving it away to grand kids a bit at a time.. and to friends .. sending it to work with dh.. sorry to be a downer...

We had a fun night....DD (toddler) finally figured out how the whole "trick or treat" thing happened two houses before we were done LOL

We had a pretty good one, too! I got my new puter & the little girl got to go to the Trunk or Treat thing at our church & play lots of Harvest Carnival games. Then we came home & sat on our front porch & gave out candy to all the gobs of trick or treaters we had...they had to have a costume & they had to have a basket...they had to say trick or treat & they had to say thank you...she was tough!! I had to call her down a time or 2 for the kids that may not have been able to get a costume...they deserve to enjoy this event, too.

So sorry, Rose, about the sad situation there. :sad:

I guess I live in the oddball town, we had 120 trick or treaters!! :hectic1: My DH actually kept a tally since last year we figured we had about 100 but were not sure. I planned perfectly and bought 240 pieces of candy, we give out 2 each, but didn't plan for a few sticky fingers that took an extra one while handing out to the other kids. So the last 4 trick or treaters ended up with full size bars from our free private stash. (BTW, my parents live two towns away and they didn't get any ToTers!)

Then to top it all off a cat adopted us a couple of weeks ago and I fell in love with it ..... with that said the mom of a kiddo that was trick or treating at our door had lost it & claimed it :( hope next year is better!!!

I bought several bags of candy to only have 2 trick or treaters! Needless to say we've all been eating it.

I put snickers, twix and reeses in the freezer to use for baking for the holidays.

On Saturday night we ordered a pizza and played poker! LOL

We did not celebrate halloween--but had a family movie night instead.

I bought 10 of the tray-packs of Reese's peanut butter cups. We normally only get a couple dozen kids here, so it was plenty for them...and for us! LOL!

As it turned out, my husband and I both had to work that night. Our 13 year old went to her friend's house to hang out with a bunch of kids from school. So...we still have LOTS of Reese's peanut butter cups!! (At this point, I'm thinking stocking stuffers!)

By the way, although we weren't home, I refused to leave all the lights off. I get off work 3 hours before my husband, and I didn't want to come home to a dark house, on a very dark road.
