I've always enjoyed History too. My DH thinks I'm the biggest geek on earth because I watch The History Channel every chance I get!!

There are so many people throughout history that I admire. Of course, like everyone else, Jesus comes to mind first. But on a lighter note, I've always admired Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain). I thought that through his writings, in his own unique way, he really captured life as it was during that period in history. He had a very adventurous spirit & tried to inspire others to live life to the fullest. My favorite quote from him:

My favorite historical person is Jesus Christ. He died for our sins and loves us no matter what we have ever done in our lives. He gave up his life for ours.

I second this. He inspired millions in his life, and millions more in his death.

When I think of love, peace and tolerance, Gandhi is the first to come to mind.
