Sadly I thought I would get more interest in this topic. I received one PM and after I hear back from that person, I will post her name in this thread. God bless everyone who said such sweet things to me. My family and I do not know any other way to exist in this world except to give back whenever we can. We do not do it for any other reason , except that it is the right thing to do and we luckily have the means in which to assist.

Don't think of it as not interested. For example.........I could not do something like that here because I live in a small town.......in which a lot of people here do NOT have internet. And I think there are whopping 2 people on HCW that live the same town as me. Plus.......if they did have internet and they were on HCW they probably would not need to worry about where their next meal came from because HCW teaches people how to feed for your family for almost nothing!
Your heart is in the right spot and that is all that matters. Maybe you could assist your local food pantry in some way? I like the idea that you are doing something local because 90% of the time, if you just look down the street........there is someone in your neighborhood that needs help.

Thanks for the kind words. My husband , dd and I already donate to 2 food pantries once a month, plus we have 2 families( 4 adults and 7 kids) who are sort of adopted by us and our own food pantry in our extra room. The families' problems range from cancer to economic downturn victims. My DH always like to explain to cashiers, when they remark about the quantities we buy and how little we pay, that we are a family of 3 buying for our whole extended family of 14. We make sure these families get milk, eggs bread and enough basics to feed their families. We have two freezers full of chicken, ground beef, hot dogs, pork chops, frozen pizzas, etc take care of everyone we buy for very well. I have learned so much from my fellow HCWers, that we not only can keep our stockpiles up, plus we can also eat things like sirloin steaks and crab legs regularly too. We feel good helping.

I am just disappointed that I could not help someone else near me. I know that there are so many folks out there struggling. I see it when I read some of the posts in the forums.

I thank God that I have the means to make a little difference in this crazy world and a lot of thanks should go to my fellow members who teach me and enlighten me everyday.

Thanks for letting me post here guys and maybe there is another way to do this for more people?

Update: My one lone entry has removed herself from the RAOK. She just received 2 boxes of food from a wonderful kind neighbor. I have advised her to keep in touch with me and let me know if she needs anything down the road.

I am so proud to know someone so honest and forthcoming. I would post her name here, but I do not want to embarrass her(plus I did not get her permission).

Thanks for reading and supporting me during this RAOK....now I have to figure out how to make this better and actually help someone. I will be back with an even better idea, as soon as I talk to the mods.

Wow! You have such a kind and generous spirit. I appreciate the fact that you are so willing to help people without looking for glory. You DD is lucky to be raised by parents who are instilling the value of loving your neighbor. Kudos to you all.
