Do you have consignment stores by you that would sell them? Sometimes you can find them not even used, tags still on! Also, I have seen wedding dresses at Goodwill before... you would have had another dress that you bought dry cleaned, so that wouldn't be any different. Also, if any of the department stores at your local mall still have homecoming or prom dresses on the rack for clearance check them out. Some of them are so fancy that they are easily passed off as a wedding dress. Mine was ;) And I paid $30 for it.
Best of luck with this, and very cool about being married at the bowling alley!
just notice i spelled it weeding dress not wedding dress, gosh playing on the computer at midnight is getting to be too much for me. We are getting married in a bowling alley nothing too fancy, the guys are even wearing bowling jerseys, so mine doesnt need to be too fancy.
First of all, congrats! I have seen bunches of beautiful wedding dresses at the local thrift stores most are under $50. THey may not be the latest style, but they are beautiful!
I did not have a "wedding dress" because we could not afford one. I wore a $19.99 clearance dress (more like a prom dress) that I got at JCP. I got married by the Justice of the Peace *GASP* but I'm just as married as those who send a fortune on a wedding. I would not want to go back and change a thing. I did not even have a wedding ring - it was in layaway (again JCP) so I got married with my engagement ring.
Nearly 27 years later, the knot the Justice of the peace tied is still holding!
Howdy from Texas!
Congrats! Ive seen alot of them at local thrift stores... if you get it cheap enough you could spend a little on some fun alterations to make it more 'your' style!! Im going to take my wedding dress from 6 years ago and on our ten year anniversary we are going to renew our vows so I going to have it altered to be alot shorter and stylish and crazy....just because!! Remember its YOUR day so get and do what you want :)

I got mine on ebay for $125 and had it altered for $30 and it came with a $2,000 price tag on it. You can find lots of simple or extravagant dresses on ebay really cheap. I once thought of buying an older dress at Goodwill, having it dry cleaned and then altered to be more up to date . . . not sure how much work that would be.
My baby boy was born June 28, 2011!!
