I finally finished the food baskets and have 20 of them!!! I spent 3 hours bagging and sorting last night. I am so excited to go out on Wednesday night to deliver them. DH's fire chief ok'd for them to take their training night to deliver with me since they helped make it possible!! I got the list of names from the town today and since a few of them have young kids, I am going out tomorrow to use some of my Target GC money for small gifts for them.

That is so awesome! You need to take pics!

I received the football and sweet potato pie envies stuffed full of goodies yesterday. Thank you Ticone4!! I'll mail those back out tomorrow. Got home too late last night to mess with it.

Today I brought the gift basket to work to give to the winner of the food drive contest. I'm going to see if I can figure out how to post a picture here...I searched high and low for a cute basket but ended up giving in and buying an ugly one at the Dollar Tree last night. Oh well, it serves the purpose! It contained 3 Glade candles, small box of Russell Stovers chocolates, Ceramic pumpkin, 2 Glade oil warmers and refills, 1 Glade candle refill, Pumpkin reed difuser, bath salts, a notepad, and scarecrow decor ($0.75 on clearance at Walmart). The winner was thrilled!

Saw this post and thought it might be helpful for those wanting to donate a Thanksgiving basket but don't have a big stockpile:

A turkey dinner for eight as low as $20
According to a survey by the American Farm Bureau Federation, last year’s average cost of a turkey was roughly $1.19 per pound. Beginning today, select Grade A turkeys are available for 40 cents per pound at Walmart.* These gobblers are part of Walmart’s $20 Thanksgiving menu guaranteeing family favorites will be on the dinner table this holiday season. Walmart’s $20 Thanksgiving feast includes:
    • One 12-pound Grade A turkey*
    • Three 11 to 15.5-ounce cans Green Giant vegetables
    • Two 14-ounce cans Ocean Spray cranberry sauce
    • Three 6-ounce boxes of Stove Top stuffing
    • One 5-pound bag of red potatoes
    • One 12-count package of Sara Lee dinner rolls
    • One 22-ounce pumpkin roll cake

Sadly, still no envies in my mailbox for me today :(. But no worries there was one inside going out though to a lucky lady in Florida. Bet you can't guess who! I love surprises.

I was a slacker last week so I played catch-up Sunday – today:

    · food basket donated to the neighbors, including: Potatoes, bread, rotisserie chicken, corn, and southern sweet tea…YUMMY!!!

    · donated two sets of Chinet plates for a Thanksgiving sharing breakfast at my sons school

    · donated 5 boxes of stuffing mix and 4 cans of veggies to the school shelter drive

    · I am not sure how you can count this but I donated time in the grocery store…I stood on the cereal aisle with TONS and TONS of target coupons and Kelloggs $1.00/1 coupons. As customers were buying these at BOGO, I would show them how to get the cereal for free. I plugged HCW on every customer too. By typing this is sounds like I am a sales man, but it was nothing like that. I then went to the chip aisle and did the same thing. I would say I was in the store for 2.5 hours, but this included my shopping too. But the personal reward from this was so much greater. …However, by doing this I think I kicked myself in the rump because we had 16 new members post in the Welcome Wagon in the matter of 10 hours…Me being a Mod for that forum kept me very busy. It was wonderful!!!
