Hi Traders

I am looking for some input about trade forum post guidelines.

We try to update and evolve as the site grows to make it better for everyone who is trading here.
Long ago, the rules were limit of 3 posts per member and 1 bump every 24 hours for each post.
That didnt work for all members. So, we tried to figure out a way that traders could have more than 3 posts without allowing anyone to have many many many posts taking over the trade forum and not having the same post(s) at the top of the forum all day every day to keep it fair.

Over a year ago, the rules updated so members could make as many unique posts as needed so each type of thing they are ISO or Have for trade can be listed seperately.
Ex. coke codes, rebates, btfe's, potlucks, coupon haves, coupon iso's. This means all member "coupon haves" need to be in one post and all member coupon ISO's need to be in one post.

Bumping went to 3 per 24 hours with the OP counting as #1 at that time too.

That is working great for some, not so much for others!

So, lets figure out what works for the majority.

If you can vote in the poll to show what you would like to see here in current trades, that would help a lot!

Currently, we delete posts on day 7 of inactivity. If you are bumping every few days, it does not become inactive.

If we open up the # of posts members can make, we will probably remove posts on day #5. We try to keep the forum current for those searching the forum for trades.
What we find is that often by day 7, you have either found or do not need what was in your post.

Keep in mind also, when voting, that we do have wishlists and havelists for full wishes and needs and longterm trade needs.

Can a thread be put 'on vacation'? I usually have the same threads going, but go on yearly mission trip and don't have internet access. I hate having to repost everything.
As usual, whatever the group wants to do will be fine-I LOVE it here and can go with the flow. :)

It will just go into the archive and when you get back you can PM any one of the trader gals and we'll pull it out for ya

this is a hard one for me. personally i put trades of everything in one post. unless i have just one weeks inserts that i want to trade (most recent inserts usually). i dont really understand why someone needs to have a seperate post for every type lol. if you figure all the different types (taken from op: Ex. coke codes, rebates, btfe's, potlucks, coupon haves, coupon iso's) thats 6 different posts. i can understand a have, and an iso if there are many coupons or whatever on each one, but to have a seperate one for each to me is excessive.

what i do if i know ill be using the same posting for a while, is either type it, or copy it to wordpad, or an email. then if the post gets deleted i still have it saved on my computer/email and dont have to retype the whole thing :)

I chose 5 posts per member/3 bumps per 24hrs/delete after 5 days inactivity for pretty much the same reasons as Imhzgrlnotu. It seems excessive to me to have a post for everything I'm looking for/have. Personally, I usually only have two, maybe 3 posts up at one time.

I tend to offer up haves when I have something significant to trade and not all the time. So, most of the time I have no "have" postings, however then I'll find several tearpad and need several. I like the higher limit on the number of posts. I like to put each thing (since they are significant to me) in its own post. I think its easier to find for someone who wants it.

If I have a specific ISO, I also like it in its own post unless there are several things from the same source.

I like the idea of a 10 post limit for haves and ISOs. I think that would give traders flexibility without cluttering up the trading forum. Most traders wouldn't always have 10 running anyway. It also makes it easy because we don't have to keep counting to make sure we aren't over the limit. I am all about easy:)

Voted for 5 total, which sounds like it would keep it simple and manageable - without being too confining. Especially since this does not count your WL and HL. I have two threads I try to bump on alternate days and it works fine for me and gives everyone a chance to be on page 1.
