Some friendly reminders to all of our great traders of how things work in the trades forum.
For a full list of rules see the other stickied thread at the top of the fourm.
Where did my post go?
Trade posts will be moved on day 7 of inactivity in the forum to the Trade Post Archive.
Posting:
Please do not make mulitple posts for similar items.
Example: If you have a bunch of rebate forms for trade, put them all in one post. If you trade some away, or find new ones, do not start a second or third post for rebates.
If you have a list of insert coupons you are offering for trade, put them into one post not multiple "have" posts.
Posts found to be duplicates or containing the same "type" of trade offer or need will be merged together by the forum mods. See forum rules for a more detailed explanation.
Bumping:
Members can bump their posts 3 times every 24 hours. Your OP counts as #1 in the first 24 hours.
This should give your posts plenty of opportunity to be seen and get your trades made.
Housekeeping:
The mods need your help to keep this forum up to date and current.
Make it a point to regularly search for your posts. you can do this by clicking search, advanced search and entering your member name.
If you no longer need/have an item listed, change the title of that post to "ARCHIVE" "delete" also works as that is what many traders are used to typing before the arichives were created.
We will remove it from the current trade forum and put it into the trading archive forum.
Please understand, that when we find multiple similar posts up, the mods will merge them into one thread.
Havelists and Wishlists belong in the Have List and Wish List forums:
HCW has a Have List forum found
here and a Wish List forum found
HERE
If you have a long list of coupons that you update regularly that are available for trade, this is a "havelist". It does need to be listed in the Have List forum. This does not mean you cannot post a short list of coupons you are trying to set up an immediate trade for. This is specifically addressing lists that a member maintains longterm containing all or most of their coupons available for trade.
The same applies to long lists of needs. This is a wishlist and belongs in the Wish List forum
Know who you are trading with:
When making a trade with someone, its a good idea to check to make sure they are a member of the Trader User Group here at HCW. If they are, they will have the user rank "TRADER" under their name.
This means they have read and agreed to HCW's trading rules and guidelines.
You can feel free to make a trade with any member you wish. However, if you make a trade with a non trader user group member, we will not mediate a bad trade.
It is a good idea to check the person's Itrader feedback. We don't get a lot of bad traders but that is one of the reasons we have the Itrader system, to protect YOU! Happy trading!
Personal info in trade posts:
One of the things that makes HCW a great place to hang out is our compassionate and caring members. We are very lucky to have great members here who support each other in their times of need and cheer each other on through the good times!
As our economy has been taking a beating and many members are finding themselves struggling we do want to ask that you limit the amount of personal information you share in your trades posts. This will keep this forum about trading and make it easier reading for all.
Titles should reflect the trade information only.
Just like we ask you not to post trades in Daily Living or Hot Under the Collar, we would ask you not to post detailed posts about your circumstances in Trades. In your post if you want to briefly share why you are looking for an item that's fine.
For example:
"I really need to build my stockpile up since my DH is getting laid off next month"
OR
"I just got a new puppy and need lots of dog food coupons"
are acceptable!
