this is an oldie, but i still love it ..
girls just wanna have fun (with sara jessica parker and helen hunt)
real cute guy (for the 80's) :)
I wouldn't have suggested them if they didn't meet your criteria. I'm sure you'll feel good watching these, and SpyinBryan should be able to tolerate them as opposed to Steel Magnolias..
An Affair to Remember is the classic chick flick, discussed ad nauseum in Sleepless in Seattle. But the Tom Hanks/Meathead discussion about chick flicks and guy flicks, how the guys got all teary at the end of the Dirty Dozen, was a lot of fun.
Roman Holiday, on the other hand, has held up very well even though it was filmed in black and white.
Another one to add, this may shoot my credibility, is Rocky. The love story behind it is exceptional, there was no question why it won Best Picture.
Good Will Hunting is another one that DW and her sisters/friends loved.
Casablanca is worth watching any day of the week, as is Gone With the Wind, but thats' plenty long.
If you can tolerate black and white films, Yankee Doodle Dandy with James Cagney is perhaps the great American movie.
