At Marc's Deeper Discount stores (51 in northeastern OH), it is almost like clockwork when a coupon appears in the Sunday inserts and Marc's carries that item.
Marc's will increase the price of that item.
Someting like a 7% increase in the selling price.
They 'know' that people will be willing to purchase that item because they have a money saving coupon for it.
Q) So what does Marc's do?
They raise the selling price of the item to 'get on the bandwagon.'
