Quick question $10gc with $75 purchase

Is the $75 after all coupons are applied or can I hand them all my merchandise, then the $10 GC coupon and last my mc? This is what I want to do:

Total after q's is 74.91 but pre q it is over $75, so would it work if I gave them that one first, then the rest?

Oh an another q, do FREE gifts count towards the $75 total? Cause I want to do another transaction the next day and use the GC I received from this transaction and one of the things I want to buy is a pixar cars Blu ray and they are offering a free backpack with a $25 purchase.

I'm not really sure and I dont think the cashier I has was either. Yesterday, I tried to buy the following:

Gator Golf 14.99
Memory 3.99
Hi Ho Cherry O 3.99
Cootie Bug? 3.99
Wubbzy Wubb Idol DVD 14.99
Kailan Super Doll 34.99

Total: 76.94 but when she scanned the coupon for the giftcard when you spend 75 it wouldnt work and she just kept saying I didnt spend enough. So I am thinking maybe it takes into account the $4 coupon I used on GATOR GOLF and the $5 giftcard I would be getting for the dvd and the $10 one for the games. Ughh she couldnt really give me a straight answer why it wouldnt work though so I just bought the games for the rebate and left the other things.

UP Blu-Ray combo $24.99 used $10 IP
Cars blu-ray special combo (with two cars) $29.99

And got $10 GC for buying $25 in Hasbro
$10 GC for buying $40 in Disney movies
$5 GC for buying the Cars movie

Plus, I got the $10 GC for buying $75 or more.

So, $35 in gift cards for $85 (pre-coupons) or $67 (post-coupons)

Thanks for the replies. I used my scenario but added a book ($8q for MI and $10q for UP). I had the same thing happen with the $10 when you spend $100 that is on the back of the toy book at the store. I added a 15.99 book to use that q but since I still wanted the book I told her to try with the $10/75 instead and it worked... I guess it is a YMMV. I am still happy with my purchase $95 after tax and got $35 in gc, $14 in MIR for hasbro. Since I can use copy of the receipt another I will get (2) rebates $5 rebate for voila and $4 rebate from ronzoni/creamette for UP

The last time I was in TRU, the manager had to come help my cashier because the $10/$75 giftcard wasn't working. The manager said it was because the cashier has to scan the giftcard coupon before any other manu. coupons. This may be why some people are having problems with the giftcard not working. Just hand the cashier the giftcard coupon before any other coupons you have. HTH.

I did give her the coupon first and she did scan it, I saw her do it, but right before I paid she told me it was she was going to hand me a $25 GC and I told her it should be $35 ($5 for monsters in, $10 for the $40/disney movies, $10 for the $25/hasbro and $10/100 purchase) she wasn't sure if it was the $40 worth of disney movies because of the q's, so I told her to try scanning the $10gc/75 coupon instead and she did and it went through. So not sure what the deal was but at least I got a $15.99 book that I had been wanting to get for the kids and when all is said and done, I spent $36.99 including tax on all the games, BRDs and book.

This happened to me last night, too. The manager told me that it was because they have to scan the $10 gift card coupon before they give you the $25 gift card for the other stuff. I had put the coupon on the counter, but I think that the register automatically prompts them to give the $25 gift card for everything else. They were able to fix it for me at customer service.

That is something she assumed but it was not the $10 movie gc that was not coming up, it was the $10gc for buying $100 from the toy book. I had a $10gc/$75, gave her that and went through... Oh well, I wanted the book anyway.
