Crib Recall

Does anyone else have the crib recall from BRU with Jardine? I am so frustrated with this! Our voucher is only 307. and I can't find anything at BRU for less than that except the really really cheap cribs. They won't reimburse shipping if you order online either. Has anyone seen a decent q lately? 5/25 isn't much of a help- the lowest price I have seen is 349 and I think it is unacceptable for me to have to pay to replace defective equipment. I have contacted Jardine already and basically got a form letter in response.

Which crib is recalled???? I have a Jardine crib from BRU....

I was given a 20% off any item coupon at the register the other day. It is at home, so I am not sure the expiration date. I am not sure if it excludes special orders either, but I can check when I get home if you would like

Our crib was recalled and we are getting a voucher for $219. This is the crib we are wanting to get DD. She'll be 2 soon and our last so I wanted to get one that converts Simplicity Kingston 4-in-1 Crib - Chocolate/White - Simplicity - Babies "R" Us . You may think it's cheap but it'll work for us.

The worst thing about this whole recall is that I had to track down something else for her to sleep in while we take her crib down and wait for the voucher.

I think that crib is adorable but they won't let you use the voucher toward shipping costs! Isn't that ridiculous! I called them about that issue of not having anything to sleep in and they said to pay oop for the new crib, then take the hardware out of the old one and send it back, when the voucher arrives you go back to BRU and get credited.

Can I ask what you plan to do with the old crib? I guess we will have to take the stupid thing to the dump. Seems like such a waste!

Wow - that stinks. But it's for the baby's safety and one can't put a price on that.

I will eventually need a crib... BRU sent us to 15% off any item that expires 10/18/08. I'm still thinking about what to use it on... since we pretty much need all the necessary equipment such as a car seat.

This whole recall was a pain in the butt. We took our crib apart and borrowed the pack and play from my parents house for a few weeks while we waited for our voucher. We looked at all of the cribs online and found one we liked. Of course it wasn't in the store. The store selection was not very good. We were also told that we couldn't use our voucher online, we could only use it in the store? (I wish I would have known I could use it online.) We ended up getting one in the store for $200 something bucks (I don't remember how much it was but we didn't pay anything OOP) I actually really like it so far, and it is a convertible crib.

It was very irritating to be without a crib for awhile, and then end up with one that doesn't match the rest of the nursery furniture. I thought it was lame that they didn't offer a suggestion as to what to do with the old crib. Ours is still sitting in the nursery. It is such a waste, I wish we could come up with something to make out of it.

Oh well,... anything for the safety of our baby.

I saw a cute idea to use the spring part of the crib as a memo board in Country Living. It looks simple and will be great to hang keys and leashes and brushes in the garage. Otherwise still trying to come up with ideas for the rest of the crib.
