Someone just posted this on one of my baby boards. Bet this has a whole lot to do with all of those people returning BPA bottles there, whether they bought them at BRU or not:
I was just at BRU. As I was paying, the cashier handed me a slip of paper describing the new return poicy that goes into effect Aug 1. There will be absolutely no returns, even for store credit, without proof of purchase. Even if it's something off your registery, you still need proof of purchase (ie gift receipt). I asked if I purchased something with a credit card, could they look up the receipt. The reply was that they could look up receipts with a credit card number but NOT with a debit card.

There's no guarantee that it's all stores, but on the chance that it's a chain-wide thing, I thought it needed to be out there.

It is chain-wide, or supposed to be. Managers still have discretion here, though, so appealing to them would be the way to go.
If you don't like the policy, please don't call guest services and yell at the agents. They have no control over the policy and aren't even being allowed to take complaints about it. The only way to really complain is to visit the TRU corporate website and use the contact us form to let corporate know how you feel.

I am not surprised at this. They had one of the most liberal return policies I have ever experienced. Of course, I loved them for it but this is going to be hard on those customers who do not realize it is changing.
Apparently, it's going to take effect from August 10th, according to an informational sheet I got when I made a purchase there yesterday.
