You get 10 extra gas points for every coupon you use. Every 100 points = $.10 off per gallon.
Can someone please explain the coupon deal for extra points for gas. I am in PA and discovered that even though we don't have TOPS gas station I could drive to NY (35 mins) and use them. We went on Friday and had a $1.10 off a gallon. I must have hit the "coupon week" since I don't shop at Tops much. Our PA flyer does not list anything about the coupon deals. Thanks!

The original promo date for using the coupons ran thru 3/12 and then you had an extra 2 weeks to use the points. Unlike previous regular gas points promos, you could also redeem the points even during the earning period.
For every 10 manufacturer coupons you redeem (not Tops coupons), you earn .10 off a gallon up to 30 gallons. So broken down, you earn a penny off your gas bill for each coupon.
I used about 1100 coupons and got 3 free tanks. I also earned 200 bonus points 3 times for buying certain items.
The first time I wasn't so smart and only filled up my measly 13 gallon tank.
The second and third time, I took note of other people filling up two cars so I invited my sister and her 18 gallon tank to get a free fill up. She was beyond amazed. Our savings was over $108 each of the two times we filled up.
I actually ended up using 300 coupons too many! Grrrr.. Had .30 off a gallon left over that was going to expire but only 1/4 of a tank to fill up. Still saved an extra $1.20 on 4 gallons.
It sure did suck actually paying for gas for the 1st time in 6 weeks! I don't think I'll be able to get another 3 tanks but I'm hoping for at least 1.
