Re: Tops i figured that there was a lull in the "action" for the holidays (which i hope everyone is enjoying).
with there being dollar doublers and P&G cat OYNO available, i'm fairly shocked that there isn't a thread this week.
from what i saw, there is some free campbells soup with printable doubled 1$ coupons and some free candy with printable. (although that printable very often makes them free 50c/2).
if you have the more than one of the nov and dec P&G, there are some free after 7$CAT coupons, which, if roll, would be very interesting.
the ad states that some crest is free with the 1/1 coupon from last week, so if you have two of those coupons that means all you have to do is fill 16 other dollars with good coupons, including two doublers left. gilette deodorant with a bogo and 2$ coupon is pretty much a no brainer.

i'd call that a decent deal if you need that stuff. i'm trying to work on some paper towel deals. the bounty 6.99 isnt bad so i'll try to get that in to a deal or two. like i said, if it rolls, it's easier to visualize as being deals, as you have 7$ to put towards the deal to get the same 7$ back. (i understand that you won't be getting the deal "free" but at least you didn't use "cash").
the 3$q for the pulsar is a good q for that deal. if you had three and needed toothbrushes, its 16.50+two crest=$20.50-9-4-7= 2.14 after tax.
i rarely post deals because i really don't get TOPS lol. it's much better than wegmans in my opinion, although people don't seem to agree.
i use coupons to try to get up to the 15$ minimum but i end up below it, so i don't like to give scenarios with that in mind since who knows what is actually accepted. same goes for the bogo/coupon on other product.
bah. i don't particularly like printable coupons because i don't know they exist until someone tells me (although i use them when they are better than the paper/nothing).

Re: Tops yeah that's pretty brutal. i mean, if you could get it to free, then the gas points would just be gravy, but it doesn't make a ton of sense to plan out these deals to save on some fuel. (on a side note, tops gas has to be within 10c a gallon of the lowest around town in order to make it even worth hitting that threshold)Originally Posted by MrsAlias

no cat. they printed one out for me but i got lucky that i had asked if the coupon machine was working beforehand, so they knew what i was planning and it was obvious that it didnt work. (originally i was told that the coupons offset the cat but that shouldn't be the case).
the only thing i could think of was the sinex, but its sinex dayquil, and it was on sale for the right price and the ad says "assorted varieties" or whatever.
i wish i knew what didn't work because i want to do another deal to get some more paper towels which we need. the gillette deodorant coupons are "worth" more to me at rite aid and i only have two 2/1qs so i may end up not using them at tops. (they expire friday anyway so i better decide soon lol)
the items not being 6 or 7 dollars rather than 5.99 or 6.99 really hurts but that is obviously meant to make you have to buy one more thing, or something with a .50 in it lol.
the crest coupon that i got that is 1$/1 seems to say that it isn't good on the crest they have on sale for 2$. it seems to be coded that it won't beep, and it is on their front page that the TP will be free after coupons, but i don't like looking sketchy. the deals aren't nearly as good without that freebie. (although the 2.50 shave gel with 1$/1 doubled coupon isn't awful).
also, (i need to type less lol), the tax was lowered by some of the coupons. maybe the doublers eat some tax, because i only paid like 40c tax on 14+$ in stuff. that changes a few of the scenarios i typed up earlier. for the better gladly.
lets get this thread buzzing lol. it's like a ghost town around here.
so many coupons expire tomorrow! oh, and Happy new year too lol.

Re: Tops one of our local bloggers who does Tops said the newspaper ad says buy 7 items, but the online ad said buy 5 items for the deal ... you only got 5 ... she had good luck calling corp office and getting her gas points added to her bonus card. You could try that.
Re: Tops according to our ad (here in scenic rochester...) it's spend 20$ and get 7$ back, nothing to do with the amount of items.
seven would be a lot, especially as it will only double four 1$qs. this is when a couple of good .75c qs would come in handy (crest..).
i wish it had worked. computers are easier to deal with than people sometimes and getting someone to print 7$ in credit after i paid only 9$ (or less) can be sticky. shows like that tlc program don't help either.
can anyone vouch for getting the CAT at all (with or.... without coupons), and if so, how many items did you buy? TIA

Re: Tops in a related story, i went today and did 20+$ worth of stuff (again) and on the receipt it said i got 200 gas points but no CAT spat out. so clearly, at least here in the rochester area, the ad says one thing but what happens is different. maybe they are transitioning to gas points here too.
hopefully this tops registering thing with your card does something exciting lol. maybe they'll start doing more CAT/bucks deals.
i was hoping the first non-printing was a fluke but when this one didn't print (and i didn't buy sinex) i knew i was in bad shape. oh well. tops fails me again. lol.
