I have wondered the same thing many times! I'm looking forward to your answer!
I have 8 tubs of Best Life buttery spread gotten as a .12 money maker.(Hy Vee .88) Haven't even tried it yet so don't even know if we like it yet,LOL . Can I freeze this and if so does it change the softness or spreadability or whatever ?

I too have wondered:)
I do know though that I have bought Country crock spread and have used it past expiration before ...not crazy far but a month after the date. It gets softer as it ages...

I freeze margarine and butter all the time, w/ no problems. In fact, there is a freezing thread here too, where others mention it.
Yup, I freeze spreadable Land O Lakes all the time as well as stick butter/margarine. Never a problem!

i have parkay , and icbinb, healthy ? and others all in freezer.. i get whats a great deal and freeze.. our fav is parkay so i use all the others in things for baking and cooking...
I freeze it all the time. The only brand I've ever had a problem with has been the I Can't Believe It's Not Butter spread in the tub. When thawed, it gets all separated and gross looking. Still usable for cooking, but it's kind of watery and icky, so I wouldn't try to spread it on toast or anything like that. Every other brand I've tried has thawed just fine with no change in texture.

Thanks![]()
I have frozen the spread and sticks many times and never had a problem. I think sometimes depending upon the brand it tastes better after it has been frozen.

I've seen country crock in non-refrigerated displays here in the store. I keep mine in the fridge anyway.
