Oooh baby!
My favorite "elivs memory" is seeing a rerun of one of his concerts on a documentary or something - when he was young and sexy - and watching his lip curl - now THAT is a good memory ;)
Favorite song: Teddy Bear ;)
Today is the 30th anniversary of Elvis Presley's death. So I thought we could talk about Elvis.

My boys have known all the words to Viva Las Vegas (yes, their parents are gamble-a-holics) since they could sing! No mother goose songs for my guys! Except they couldn't say the "V" sound, so it came out (and still does for my little ones) Biba, las begas!
Today's also my Grandmother's 94th birthday, one of my cousins b-days, and my dental hygienist's birthday. So today's either a good day to be born or a good day to die - take your pick!

My favorite memory of Elvis is seeing him live in concert when I was a kid. It was so exciting. It was my first "real" concert and we (my best friend) were in the nose bleed section, but we had binoculars and we just knew he was singing just for us! My friends brother was in a wheelchair and they let him go down to one of the ramps really close to the stage, and we both took turns going down there with him.
We went back a few years later and the entire energy of the show had changed. It was the year before he died. He had gained all that weight and couldn't do the moves anymore. But he still sounded good!
I always loved the song Separate Ways. I love all of his songs, though.
Don't Cry Daddy
Teddy Bear
Always On My Mind
Kentucky Rain
In the Ghetto
Walk On
He died on my sister's 5th birthday and I remember crying.

If any of you have ever read any of the Charlaine Harris books then you know - Elvis isn't dead, he was made into a vampire! LOL
Seriously, my mom was/is a HUGE Elvis fan and I so remember the day he died, I was only 5 but I remember she cried so hard and for so long it felt like a family member had died.
Favorite songs:
Can't Help Falling in Love (was played at my wedding as I walked down the aisle)
Suspicious Minds
A Little Less Conversation
Blue Christmas
And the other one I can't remember the name of ("Left my home in Norfolk, Virginia California on my mind...") DH is playing his guitar and I can't think - LOL

My favorite Elvis song is "are you lonesome tonight". When I was in 8th grade I had this buddy who I also had a major crush on. Well we used to cut up in math class and one day durring quiet study time he comes over to my desk, kneels on one knee and and serenaded me with that song. I just about died from either laughter or embarassment. LOL He got busted for that but it was pretty darn funny.
I was only 4 when he passed. Don't remember it at all. My mom has a friend who is an Elvis collector. Her licence plate says Elvis on it, and he whole house is done up in Elvis. From the black velvet paintings on the wall to Elvis Christmas ornaments on the tree.
