I would pay off all the small debt on my (besides student loans) on my credit to clean it up. Thats maybe 1,500.

I would pay off about 20,000 on my mortgage. (Have $26,500 total left right now) I could easily pay off the rest of it with income tax and extra money from paychecks.

I would take 5,000 and fix up things around the house to get it into "sellable" condition.

I would put another 1,000 in savings

The rest I would take and go on a little vaction with my family and take them on a little spree :)

I'd just put it aside for normal, everday expenses and then contribute more cash towards the principal payment on the house each month.

Another for paying off what bills I could.

We just got 3 months back pay for my DH's LTD (hopefully just one more month of that and he goes back to work!!!), and I hate to say it took almost $3K to catch us up on back rent, back car payment, child support, and some went to his medical bills. $30K seems like a lot when you have so little but boy it gets gone in a hurry.

I bet the lady that bought the new bmw will not have that car in 6 months and that is sad because it seems when you work for something it means more and you take care of it better.
