That really is pathetic!
Well, I was pretty disgusted Lowes Food participated in the *show that shall not be named* and it was pretty clear the 'person' who did her shopping was about as rude and low class as they came, for those that saw the video clip (see link below).
I wrote to Lowes Food and that was a week ago. I finally got this response via email today:
Good afternoon Ms. XXXXXXXX,
This summer Lowes Foods participated in two tapings of Extreme Couponing. In an effort to assist the show with their production, unfortunately the show participant was allowed multiple, same day transactions that contained coupons. As they say, hindsight is 20/20. We regret the decision which demonstrated inconsistency with our coupon policy and will not participate in future tapings.
As a privately owned company, we have learned a great deal from this experience. We all live in a world where saving money on groceries is the norm and we welcome the use of coupons in our stores. Our coupon policy has not changed and remains intact going forward.
I'm sorry, that's pretty pathetic. They knew exactly what they did for that 'person' to participate and they happily went along. But for the rest of us honest and ethical coupon users, too bad, you have to follow our policy.
Not a problem, I do not need to increase their bottom line at all, I don't need to shop there and won't unless I can get something for sales tax only.

Coupons are found money - who walks by money on the ground??

Aaaarrrggggghhhhh!
I can't even say at least they admitted it. The show has been on for a YEAR and there's no way they could have been unaware of the controversy surrounding the unethical behavior the show is becoming known for.
Oh well. I'd have been terribly disappointed in HT if they did this, but Lowes, doesn't affect me as much.

This isn't the first time and I'm 100% won't be the last.
Frys in AZ did the same they and they posted on facebook how sorry they were blah blah blah and that they did not mean to mislead their shoppers. AND that their online coupon policies remain for their regular shoppers.
I understand free advertisement is calling loudly but this is also bait n switch, plain and simple. If wannabe couponers flock to their store hoping to duplicate Michele's trip, let us see if they don't get shut down by cashiers/store management![]()

She is very rude and gives couponers a bad name in every way. She made me want to reach in a slap her..
I dont have a Lowes food here but I do have krogers(town over) and they are on there alot. I dont know why any store would want to show on tv that they take any all coupons like they do on thsoe shows..
Since they are getting free advertisement out of it and showing us that they will double every sinlge coupon as part of the advertisement maybe someone should take them to court for flase advertisement..lol I bet that would put a end to that show for no store would dare touch it again unless they go by the real coupon rules...

Shameful, and I cannot believe for a minute they did not know the uproar around the show. It is bait and switch. Plain and simple. They showed someone breaking the policy and then expect everyone else, the regular folks to abide by the coupon policy.
The real disservice is to the new couponer, who will watch the show and expect to be able to do the same. We saw it happen after season one, and I was really hoping season 2 would be different, that the show would have learned its lesson, or the stores. Why are the stores allowing the show to be filmed? There is only two ways to get the madness to stop, people either need to stop watching the show (not going to happen) or the stores need to say no to filming. All of the stores have been affected by it too, and not in a good way.
