Ouch. All I can say is, Amanda sweetie. Shopping can be stressful, but I winced when you talked to your S/O on camera the way you did. My DH would have left me in the store twisting in the wind if I did that. Here's hoping you made it up to him later.

Was this the episode that the one lady lived in AZ and had all that food on shelved in her GARAGE?? I live in FL and don't even put food on my garage shelves, can you imagine the temp. in the garage in the summer?

Also, Amanda was on the show twice, maybe that means no one is applying to be on the show and it will go away soon!

Yes, this is her second time. And maybe the "fame" has gone to her head a little? I mean, kind of diva, I thought. Her grandma was a sweetie, though. And it's hard to be hard on her (Amanda) when she obviously makes her grandma so happy. So I don't know if it was stress or her blood pressure or what but, geez. Cool it down, girlfriend. You're going to give yourself a stroke like that.

My DH was in the room while I was watching, and he said "if you EVER spoke to me like that, I'd leave you in the store with your coupons!". I get that this show is extreme, but if anyone else buys another 100 noodle bowls just because they're free, I might throw up.

But on the storage issue, I was struck more by the 4 refrigerators and 2 freezers. I would think that sort of investment would kind of offset a lot of your "savings." Not to mention the power bill that comes with. I just bought a small $15 shelving unit and I hated like heck to pay for it, just because that is $15 I "saved" with coupons. And it's not really saving to me if you're spending the money on other things. The only way I could justify it is I needed a high place to put the cat food on so the dog can't get to it, so the shelf is doubling for that. Other than that I would have had a really hard time justifying it to myself.

I was thinking the same thing! The only thing that was missing this week was mustard and hot sauce lol.

The dog food was new, though. I wonder if either of them had dogs?

That lady who had 4 freezers had only been doing it for 3 months too, so unless she got them for free, that's a lot to lay out at the beginning. I'm like you - I saved money getting this stockpile, and now I have to SPEND to store it LOL. I have my fridge/freezer in my kitchen and a chest freezer in my basement. That forces me to think about every purchase and if I have room for it instead of buying stuff to increase my savings rate.
