Default Getting multiple items on 1 coupon

FOrgive me if this question is redundant and has been answered before. I'm a new father to twins and trying to learn couponing to help feed my family. Times are tough and I"m trying to survive. I just have 1 question.

When you see the extreme coupon people go and take 50 of the same item because it is free with a coupon, how do they do that? Do they bring 50 coupons for the same item or do they use 1 coupon?

I don't watch the extreme coupon show because I cancelled my tv servivce and sold the tv to safe money.

Thanks in advance for any response.

With extreme couponing they are to use 1 coupon for every item even if it is the same item. But the show is something else. As you watch ask yourself a few questions like 1) how many stores are going to let you take up 3 or 4 registers to ring you out because you need to seperate your orders in order to get around the rules. 2) do they really need 150 tubes of toothpaste or 75 bottles of asprins. Ive only seen 2 people on that show that spoke up and kept only what they needed and then called a food bank to come pick up the rest. The things I stoke pile on are the things that are used everyday like deoderant, soaps and laundry sapplys and when I can toilet paper.. Others go out of date and then cause waste an stops others from being able to try or get new items. My oldest child does this too. She has a family of 4 an pets. She is teaching friends and siblings how to use coupons properly. I love to watch because see teaches me some new things every now an then. Good luck!

If you buy 50 items, you would need 50 coupons if the coupons are say $1 off one. If the coupons state $1 off two, you would need 25 coupons. The coupon amount only comes off ONCE so you can't use it again and again.
It's 35 cents off of ground round,
    Baby, cut that coupon out!

ok, that makes scense. ON these shows and youtube videos the person doesn't say, I have 50 of these coupons, or I went and stole all the sunday papers from the paper bin or I bought 50 copuons from ebay. They just say, we have this 1 coupon and they hold it up in their hand and say ok the cheetoes are 65 cents off and they are on sale and they will double my coupon and I will make 20 cents on each package so I'm buying all 200 on the shelf.

First off, welcome to the group!

Second, what you see, or have heard about that show, is completely unrealistic. If you shop at ShopRite, you can double ONLY 4 like coupons in one transaction. Some stores down south all more (6, 10), but that's it. I'm sure there are stores that allow more than that, but I don't know of any. One coupon = one item, unless the coupon says: 1.00/3, then it's one coupon for 3 items. Hope that helps

    arikinthecity...

The Extreme Couponing show is unrealistic. I, along with many others, believe that coupon/store policies are heavily relaxed for the purposes of the EC camera's. What you may notice too that is a regular theme on the show is that we are all told that each EC'er is preparing for "their biggest shopping trip to date"...well, duh! LOL

The other thing that you see in most if not all of the episodes, there always seems to be a snag at checkout. Either the register locks up because there are too many coupons or the register stops working because the limit of scanned items has been exceeded. IF, and this is a big IF, these people shop like this all the time, they would know about these issues and not be so surprised when it happens to them.

Secondly, look at the free items they are buying. Their "haul" will always include 200 bottles of hot sauce and 200 bottles of mustard. That is why these shopping trips look so extreme. Anyone can obtain 200 coupons for $1/1 Kraft BBQ sauce and buy them when they're on sale for $1 to get them free. But is that really necessary? No, it's all for the show.

I also want to bring up the fact that one EC'er that we know of has already been publicly "debunked" due to answers she gave in an interview about her episode. She revealed her strategy which exposed her coupon fraud, particularly in her episode.

If you buy 50 of the same item you will have to have 50 coupons for that item. Unless it says its good on two items.

Please read and learn about coupon on here and dont mind that crazy show. Several of those people on that show have been in trouble since they have been on that show for useing coupons incorrect...

That show is so unreal..plus some of those youtube ones dont tell the full story about the shopping trip.

I to have twins and its not a easy life at all...I also have two teen boys..

I totally agree! I shop mainly at ShopRite and I HATE that when I watch the show they are getting 400 bottle of Vitamin Water in 1 stinking transaction! My ShopRite would have the cops come and arrest me!
It upsets me that the show is on because I am not finding the coupons I used to, so my thinking is that other people are 'finally' getting coupon savvy from watching such shows.
I have about 500 toothbrushes but that was when Colgate would double and they paid me to buy them....nothing like a stockpile! I'm not as good as I used to be with 3 kids and they're picky eaters! Soon all will be in school at least 1/2 day so I'll get back into having a HUGE stockpile!
Thanks for all the tips :)

Yes, the stockpiling is ridiculous. It's like the guy who had 700 lb of tootepaste in his basement. It's only for looking at, you can't use any of it!!! LOL. it's a trophy to him
