Roger Howarth ( Original Todd Manning ) Returning to "One Life to Live"



BIG news for Llanview as Roger Howarth, the Emmy-winning originator of the role of Todd Manning will return to One Life to Live later this year. But who will the actor portray ...?

Howarth left OLTL in 2003, after having played Todd Manning since 1992, creating one of Daytime's most talked-about characters and winning a Daytime Emmy in 1994 for Outstanding Younger Actor. Trevor St. John took over the role in 2003, as Todd came back from the "dead" with a different face, due to extensive facial reconstruction surgery, and remains in the role to this day.

"We are thrilled to have Roger return to One Life to Live," says executive producer Frank Valentini. "As OLTL viewers know, Trevor St. John has been playing the role of Todd Manning since 2003. We have a great story planned that will involve both actors."

Howarth begins filming his return to One Life to Live this May.

Susan Haskell out at One Life to Live

Susan Haskell will be exiting One Life to Live in the coming weeks. The two-time Emmy winner has been let go from the show. Haskell originated the role of Marty Saybrooke in 1992.

According to a published report, Emmy-winning actre Susan Haskell ( Marty Saybrooke ) has been fired by One Life to Live. The actress returned to the ABC soap in 2008, following an eleven-year break from the show.

News of Haskell's exit was first reported by We Love Soaps. A network spokesperson declined to comment, noting that network policy prohibits the discussion of Internet rumors.

Haskell first appeared on One Life to Live from 1992 to 1997, but the actress made additional appearances in February 2004 and February 2005. In 1994, Haskell was awarded a Daytime Emmy in the Outstanding Supporting Actress category.

In 2006, ABC proudly announced that Haskell would be returning on a short-term basis. However, Haskell learned that she was pregnant, and her return was shelved. With a storyline already in place for her alter ego, the ABC soap cast Christina Chambers in the role. Chambers last aired in December 2007. Haskell did make her anticipated return to Llanview in June 2008. The following year, she picked up a second Daytime Emmy -- this time for Outstanding Lead Actress.

A final airdate has not yet been announced for Haskell.

Brian Kerwin ( Charlie Banks ) out at OLTL

Brian Kerwin is reportedly out as One Life to Live's Charlie Banks. A show rep had no comment on the actor's status with the show. The actor joined the show in 2007.

Though unconfirmed by the network, soapcentral.com has confirmed that two-time Emmy nominee Brian Kerwin (Charlie Banks) will be exiting One Life to Live this spring.

Citing their own sources, Soaps In Depth and Soap Opera Digest are also reporting that Kerwin is out.

An established actor, Kerwin had only appeared on one other soap when he joined the OLTL cast. From 1976 to 1977, Kerwin played the role of Greg Foster on The Young and the Restless. In 2008, Kerwin graced the silver screen in the movie 27 Dresses.

A One Life to Live rep had no comment.

Kerwin joined One Life to Live in 2007. The role will not be recast.

Brittany Underwood ( Langston Wilde ) to exit One Life to Live

Another actress will exit the ABC Daytime canvas this spring. The network is confirming that Brittany Underwood will leave One Life to Live later this year. The actress joined the show in 2006.

One Life to Live starlet Brittany Underwood (Langston Wilde) will exit the show this spring.

Underwood debuted in May 2006 as the edgy, bad girl, who was subsequently adopted by Dorian Lord. One Life to Live was the actress' first contract role as an actor.

"Thank you all so much for your kind words, I will miss you guys more than you know," Underwood posted on her Twitter page. "It has truly been a pleasure."

An ABC spokesperson confirms that Underwood will be departing the show, and states that the exit was storyline-dictated.

Underwood will last air on April 12.

Right now this is my favorite soap. Been watching it for years.

I don't know why they can't let at least one couple be happy. Feel so sorry for Vicky. Clint is just unhappy and evil. I think Jessica loves to play Tess. Who's the daddy storyline need to be cleared up. Hello get some new DNA tests. I'm thinking John is really the daddy but Natalie and Brody are going to sleep together just before John comes back. The Jack/Shane storyline while sad is good one. Very current in today's world. Let's hope Jack changes his ways. Sad how the let Marty go downhill. Don't like when they take strong women and make the crazy. Don't know how the old Todd will come back. If the current Todd stays it should be interesting.

Maybe old Todd had an identical twin brother no one knew about. Could be...

Yep Viki has been through it all hasn't she. Since Charlie is leaving I guess this was a good way to usher it in. Rumored that he & Echo will leave town together.

BTW it is also rumored that Erika Slezak ( Viki ) may be leaving also. I hope not as she has been a corner stone on that show for a long long time. It would not be the same without her.

The Clint storyline has taken a lot of people by surprise. Of course he seems to have an air about him that makes it fit well. Will be interesting to see what direction his character is going to be taken in.

Jessica / Tess & Viki / Nikki story lines are really getting old. Lets move on for pete sake!

I agree - I believe that John is the father. Remember what Vimal said at the wedding? "I didn't know which daughters records to change so I flipped a coin". That means that neither Nat or Jess showed Brody as the father. I believe that Marty changed Nat & John's test. Her visit to Viki's where she said she knew who Liam's parents are is also another lead in to that end result.

Yep something is going to happen between Nat & Brody before the truth is revealed.

Going to be interesting to see how Marty will end up leaving the show. To be honest I liked the other woman that was playing Marty before the original came back.

Shane / Jack ~ Great story line & yes while sad I am glad to see it out there.

Jack has always been a brat. Makes you wanna reach through the screen & slap the tar outta him & his parents for the way they are so casual regarding the way they deal with him & his behavior. IRL ~ & if he lived in my home - well lets just say he would be eating his meals standing for a long time.

I think he needs to see some hard times for awhile especially for the Shane situation so the show doesn't portray that bullies get away with what they have done. I hope the writers handle the rest of the story line in the right manner.

There was evidence of bullying when I went to school but not to the degree it has gotten to in todays world. Gotta wonder what went wrong for todays youth & their parents.

Old Todd ~ I had a love / hate relationship ( as they say ) when it came to his acting. He was more demure in his behavior / mannerisms. At times I liked his acting & others I didn't. I hope he is a little more outgoing this time around.

New Todd ~ He is all out there. He is passionate & aggressive in all his scenes.

Yep this story line is going to be interesting - so many possibilities here.

Tomas obviously is in the know & it will also be interesting to see how he fits in all of this.

1. 2 Todd's story line. Story being set up slowly with a shocking twist & will also have a moment that fans will never forget. Once this story has been completely told, one major Actor will be let go. Old Todd?
2. The beginning of the Ford family being let go is coming into play.
3. There is a reunion in the works for James then he will be leaving
4. A younger male actor ( not currently filming ) will either be coming back or will be recast
5. Marty being called the new Margaret only smarter
6. Get ready for Musical Babies that will lead to some heart-wrenching reunions.
7. Charlie & Echo will be leaving Llanview
8. Aubrey to play the victim but her world comes crashing & Cutter not coming to her rescue
9. Viki & Clint fans are in for a treat
10. Possibly leaving are Gigi, Brody, Shane, Tomas & Cristian
11. Rumored story lines are being completed as OLTL is being canceled

Shaun was dating Rachel Gannon ( Nora & Hanks daughter ) but when his brother Greg came to town she & Greg hooked up.

Shaun is now dating Vivian ( A Dr. ) however not really much of a story line going on.
