I saw this one on another forum and thought it would be fun and enlightening... especially since DH says Im a wealth of useless knowledge like this.

...that a human's hair and fingernails DO NOT continue growing after death. Its an old wives tail....the skin dries out and actually recedes making them appear longer and that they have grown. (kind of gross I know but interesting none the less)

the reason why people yawn is because their brains aren't getting enough oxygen......so when you yawn it opens you up wide to let your brain take a big puff of oxgyen......its contagious to see others yawning because it makes you subconsiously realize you need more oxygen as well so in turn you yawn
